  A friend and I picked up Cortana in NJ today, and took her back to the DC suburbs with us! She’s a beautiful white Flemish Giant. She weighs 13 lbs, and is estimated to be about a year old.
  
  Apparently, she was abandoned with her two babies (who I didn’t get to see – they were off getting neutered) in an apartment. Supposedly, the person who “owned” her (and I use the term loosely because real owners don’t do this to pets) was breeding them, and then just up and left without them. She’s the first bun I’ve owned with an ear tat (3 letters and 2 numbers), which is glaringly obvious on her white ears, yet somehow I missed it while cuddling her on the ride home.
  
  She’s also the first bun I’ve owned who was a LAP BUNNY! She LOVES to snuggle – so much so that her foster mom recommended that she ride in one of our laps rather than in the cage to keep her calm. And calm she was! When she wasn’t dosing or being a sweetheart, she was attempting to explore the car. Her foster mom told me she got nervous on car rides – certainly didn’t seem like it!
  
  We also had a mini-bonding session this evening. Navi was doing much humping, but Cortana didn’t seem to care – she only moved away once, when she grunted at Navi. Navi was also chasing her as she tried to explore the pen. But Navi did give up some grooms – Cortana didn’t yet. I think she’s thinking “I did enough of this for my babies – you’re slightly older than I am!”
  
  Here she jumped off of my lap and took up residence in the area for my feet once she figured out that the AC was blowing down there.
  
  Here, we were stopped at a rest stop in DE and just chilling in the car while waiting for the friend who went with me to get back out from the restroom/Starbucks/BK. A couple of people spotted her and just had to fuss over her too!

  I’m in love. Flemmies are so gorgeous and I would love to adopt one in the future. She is gorgeous. Enjoy every minute with that cuddle bug.

  Congratulations! She’s finally home with you.
  It seems that the really large bunnies are the most snuggly, which I really like. I think the bonding is off to a good start, too.

  Wow, now THAT is a bunny! And I’ll take one of those poke sticks Lintini . I would LOVE to see her with Navi Lis. Too early? I’m so glad you saved her from that rotten breeding life. Now she can just be happy… and snuggly

  Well, since at this stage they spontaneously erupt into fights, I’m not going to take a moment to try to take photos. I’ve got my spray bottle ready the entire time. But, as soon as I feel comfortable, I will take some photos of them together.

  She is just gorgeous in all her hugeness!
  
  I could just snatch her up and squish her in my pocket and run away! But I would probably look like I have some inoperable tumor and a really bad limp with her in my pocket!

  Flemmie zooms are awesome! Abby goes upstairs so no one can see her zoom and it sounds like she’s going to fall through the floor! =D
