Hello!
My husband and I rescued/adopted a pair of bonded almost 3-year old mini lop females from a family who couldn’t keep them any more. The gal who had raised them through 4H didn’t take care of them any more. They were skittish at first and very unused to being indoors (they had been kept outside in a hutch and fed tractor-feed pellets only), but soon our Sybil and Fantine warmed up to us. I’ve been very slowly letting them run around parts of our house, and have been gently litter training them. I’ve had buns all my life, so I’m used to being patient!!
For the last week or so, Fantine has been buzzing/honking almost constantly whenever my husband or I am in the room. She is not aggressive in any way. She still begs for food and asks to be pet behind the ears. She will quiet down sometimes as we pet her.
Neither bun is fixed, as we’re saving up for the procedures…but I’ve never experienced this in any of my buns before.
Any advice is greatly appreciated. I just want these gals to have a happy life after being mostly ignored for so long.
Thanks!!
