My bunny doesn’t like anything I give him for chewing. I’ve tried all sorts of toys to no avail, and he keeps tearing up his floor mat instead.

I tried some compressed alfalfa cubes, and they seem to keep him occupied when he is in a chewing frenzy. There are also compressed Timothy hay cubes. But there are so many things the pet stores sell that are actually bad for the bunnies, I am not sure these are ok.

         Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hmm. I’d like to know the answer, too. As my bunny would LOVE these and I’m going to the store tomorrow

my bun will only chew the willow ball/cubes from BB store. I also buy orchard branch sticks on amazon.

Alfalfa isn’t good for adult buns, but can be given as a treat. It’s excellent for young buns (less than 6-7 months of age). The reason is that alfalfa is high in both protein and calcium. That’s perfect for a growing individual, but needs to be fed very sparingly to adults.

Apart from the issue with alfalfa mentioned by Bam, hay cubes are perfectly fine as a toy/treat to be given to bunnies. It shouldn’t be used as a replacement for hay unless absolutely necessary, but is safe to give and them to eat

Good to know. I’ll alternate between alfalfa and Timothy so he doesn’t get too much of the former. He just won’t go for sticks, willow balls, grass balls, anything.

                  Thanks for the info!
