I had him out to play and put him on the bed (spare bed thankfully!) and he peed!  This is his very first pee not in his litterbox.  I think perhaps I just had him out too long???  The strange thing is that his pee didn’t have a scent, I didn’t smell anything.  I did take off the comforter and sheets and toss them right into the washing machine and used vinegar on the mattress anyway.  But there was no odour.  I thought rabbits’ urine was stinky??

Since he hasn’t been too interested in eating his timothy hay I bought him a new kind last nite, meadow grass hay.  I did see him eat a bit of hay last nite but it was the timothy hay.  lol  Silly rabbit!  Maybe he just wanted a variety to choose from?  I also bought him new pellets (timothy complete), timothy based ones instead of alphafa based.  He likes them just fine.  I am mixing them with the old pellets and he gobbles up everything.

When I had him out on the bed the was a couch throw cushion on there that he seems to have developed a love affair with.  He just wants to sit there and lick and lick and lick this pillow!!!  What’s that about?  lol  And he LOVES to dig! He tries to dig on the comforter and the pillows.  It’s sooo cute!  The longer I have him (a week today!!!!)  I can see that he’s starting to explore and play more.  I just can’t wait to see all the new things he’ll try.

I love him to death this silly little ball of fur!!!!!

That’s a great picture! Sounds like he’s coming around too with the hay. Let us know how he likes the new pellets too.

Our boy DJ has peed on my daughters’ beds a couple of times, usually when we have foster bunnies in the house.  At least once it was as you say, he was away from a box for too long, got too comfortable, and kind of lost control.  A couple of other times he did it, it was intentional, I think to "claim" my kids as his to keep the evil foster rabbits away.  Your bunny may be experimenting with claiming the bed for himself.

Has Comet had any problems peeing on the bed anymore? If not, he may have just needed to use the litterbox. Quite often bunnies will make territorial poops or pee on a bed because it smells so strongly of humans, and they want to claim it for themselves. ALso, the couch cushion may smell a lot like you, and it can be Comet’s way of “grooming you” without actually grooming YOU My bunnies always like to have a selection of hay as well, we give our bunnies Timothy grass, meadow grass, and oat hay (oat hay seems to be their least favorite, other than the oat groats on the hay which they eat first!)
