There are just a few things about this lop bunny that I find peculiar not having seen it in another bun.

He is so smart first off. You can change up everything around him, and he never misses to figure it out. Literally, you could hide his litter box and he will still not make a mess but find it the first time he looks. He will also use, without reservation, any watering system known to lagomorphs, be it the patented ball-in-spout bottle, spring-loaded, different sizes, vacuum bottle, whatever. Further, he knows no fear. He attacks with curiosity.  He also trances without restraint. You turn him around and he is frozen still. He just lies there and waits for whatever procedure. Then, there is picking him up. He has the gift of balance. I go to grab him and he anticipates and reaches out his front paws in a long cat stretch whilst maintaing the rest of his little plump body in tension so to avoid being pulled down by gravity. Pretty good for a bunny who lived in a hamster cage for 2 years!

He is adorable! I love that pic! My buns do the rearranging thing too. I can and have changed everything in their cage numerous time but it never phases them! I can just picture him stretching out! haha Too funny….

This is what I was talking about. I’m sure lots of rabbits do this, but none of mine. Here’s Clifford in a trance.

He is so cute- I love the compact lop face!  And I love the spotted pattern when they have alot of color like that!  I adore big splotches of color like that!

Do you think he is a pure Holland Lop? He’s just a little over 3 lbs.

Clifford would be the perfect rabbit to take into schools to teach chidren about rabbits. I’d love to do presentations about animals, and rabbits are so frequently the choice of parents for children… My own rabbits aren’t as well-suited for this assignment. Maybe Deirdra — but Clifford doesn’t get stressed ever. On the other hand, he might create the impression that all rabbits can be handled with such ease…

It looks like he has the shorter face/nose that is so common with Holland Lops- and his stocky build would be right also.  So from overall looks-shorter nose, ears, stocky build and weight I think that he is most likely purebred.  To keep the smaller size and mix breeds- you would probably lose some of the characteristics of a Holland Lop- as nothing looks similiar in that size range.

I think Mini Lops can be a little tougher to tell because they are more of a medium rabbit than a “small rabbit” and there seem to be quite a few common pet rabbits that fall within that weight range.  For example- Schroeder has the lop ears, quite stocky build- but has a longer nose- that could be a mixed breeding or just possibly a breeding between 2 Mini Lops that did not pass on the “standard desired traits”.   When I look at Craigslist I am disgusted by the amount of casual breeding I see in my area.

I am not even sure Cotton is 100% Mini Lop but she looks more like a “bulldog” compared to Schroeder.  Everytime I see her face I want to pinch her fat little cheeks- good thing she has learned to manipulate that to her benefit (treats and lovin’).

That’s it. Bulldog. I love bulldogs and this must be why I find Clifford so beautiful also. With his markings he’s even got the “mask” of a bulldog.
I think, Roger below here might be a mini lop, he’s 6 lbs.

Cutest face ever. He could destroy everything in my house and I couldn’t get mad at a face like that!!!!

well, as I’m going through bonding with him right now, I feel the same way… and I think, his face is the reason that my friend, his owner, developed an affection for rabbits.

It’s like a teenager yelling to his mom, “MOm! Leave my room alone. It’s not dirty!!”

He is a beautiful bunny! I am not a *big* fan of lops like other people, I prefer me an uppy-eared given the choice (sorry Maxie…) but he is a stunning bun. His coloring is so perfect and he does look like a puppy.

My hubby isn’t a fan of the lops, but I just know if we find one that our Monkey likes, he’ll fall for a lop too :p

I like them all. Giant rabbits, tiny bunnies, lop-eared, uppy-eared… they each have their own charm.

Here’s Roger again, really looking like a puppy.
