I’m a first timer at clicker training my bunny. I think it could help a lot for us to bond more and gives us both something to do. lol I could really use some helpful tips and advice. Also some advice on what to do and what not to do. Not really sure about where to start? 😐

Hi! Clicker training is a complex topic! The thing to start with is to establish a connection in the bun’s mind between the click and the treat. The click means well done, a treat is on the way. You shouldnt even praise until after the bun has had the treat. And you must be really quick with the treat. The treat should be very small and sth the bun can eat quickly. Training sessions should be kept very short.

The principle of clicker training is easy, but the practical performance can be tricky and needs a bit of practice on the human’s part.

Clicker training is such a complex topic that it’s not really practically possible to explain it in a forum post. I recommend Karen S Pryor’s book Don’t Shoot The Dog, which can be downloaded for free as a pdf file. It’s very good! I bought it when I got my puppy (dog) and we did lots of clicker training.

Here’s a few starting pointers, note that this is for training a dog, so the treats are not appropriate for a rabbit. The principle is the same though. http://www.clickertraining.com/15tips
