They first said to teach your rabbit to associate the click sound with treats. So give him a treat and click. Once he’s learned that – then you can try to teach him simple tricks. The easiest for me to teach my buns was ‘Up’. Just hold the treat above his head, when they stand up, then click and give him the treat.
The there’s walk – where once he’s standing up, lead him forward by moving the treat away. My buns do better with this, when I keep it pretty close to their nose, and lead away slowly.
Spin was a little more complicated – but lead them in a circle with the treat, and when the circle is complete, click.
Be sure to use the same sound and hand motions as well.
My buns have also learned, ‘hands’ – where they stand up, and place both paws in my hand. They also jump through hoops, and jump on top of their igloo. They get excited when I get their treat box, and say ‘Tricks for Treats’!
