I vacuum a few times a week, not my whole place but where the buns roam, and I still have tons of fur flying around. There’s also bugs (carpet beetles) in my place and I blame it on bun fur since they feed on fluff. Even my cube at work has fur and the other day I found hay in my cube -_-. My buns also like to protest with bad litter habits.

My buns have destroyed at least 3 vacuum cleaners. Currently I have a handheld for small cleanups and the fur that gets stuck in the car as well as the Pledge fabric sweeper – mainly use this on my clothes. Have an upright Eureka bagless which does pick up a lot but I have to clean it almost everytime since the fur clogs up the filter; my own hair also clogs up the brush roll. I also use it clean up poo and hay; probably not the best idea but it works well enough. I just ordered a handheld Bissel carpet cleaner for all the pee spots; using pure vinegar and nature’s miracle only goes so far. I’m thinking that I may need a new better sucking vacuum that goes deeper? Then, just use the one I have for poos.

        Suggestions?

What about a small shop vac for the hay and poo and then follow up with your regular vacuum? That might help.

And I would vacuum everyday if its that bad. And the lint roller before going to work will help too. If my buns start having bad litter habits they get grounded for a good week before they are to come out again. I just can’t stand poos and rabbit urine in my carpet and I always felt locking them up will re-establish good litterbox habits

Luckily my buns get 100% of their poops in their cage now. And in their cage they get about 95% poos in the box. I don’t remember the last time I had to pick poo up in the house…

Are your buns shedding all year round? I’ve learned that doing everyday cleanup helps alot at keeping things at bay. Vacuum and sweep at least once a day. I sweep 2-3 times a day in the kitchen as that’s where Sally and Harley are housed and Sally is going through a heavy shed right now. And brush them out whenever you get the chance to try and get some of the dead hair out. I couldn’t even imagine how tough it would be if Sally were long haired!

No shoes in the house here so, poo and pee on my carpet means I may accidentally step in it! I’m hoping the carpet cleaner will help with the poo and pee. All the litter training tactics haven’t worked so far. They were all “litter trained” when I got them and the majority does go into the box but there’s still random spots and many spots are repeat offenders. They are currently “housed” in my room and not their own to try to make them more secure in my room so they stop poo/pee in my room but it’s not working =/. When my female is displeased, even at her own long eared friends, she leaves a pee spot. They also like to jump and flick in and out of the box so poo goes flying or stuck in the paws and then gets tracked.

My buns like to fur pull and/or play rough so even if they are not shedding, there’s fur. Sometimes I do vacuum multiple times a day but other times there’s just no time. I have a handheld brush for sweeping but it doesn’t help with fur, just poo. The problem I think is that the fur is so light that as I’m vacuuming, fur is flying in the air and doesn’t get sucked. Sometimes I’ll randomly see fur floating in the air =).
