You can read about what happened here: https://binkybunny.com/FORUM/tab…fault.aspx
The low down is Chuck has head tilt (from an ear infection we hope) and we’ve started treating. I wanted to start a thread on his treatment and hopefully his recovery.
We started antibiotics (2x a day for 14 days) Monday as well as metacam (1x a day for four days-though I’m going to ask my vet about keeping that up a little longer -in his case it’s for inflmmation, which was apparent on the xray and i’d like to do a week or so of it) and antinausea meds (1x a day until recovered).
With the med schedule and dosing that’s SIX syringes of meds; Two three times a day (2 syringes for antibiotics -one for the one ml and one for the .85 ml; that twice a day; and then two other meds! He totally hates me right now!
)
I’ll post his xrays when I get them-hopefully she doesn’t forget-she promised to put them on disc for me; They are interesting and I thought you guys might enjoy seeing them.
To date no real improvement but the antibiotics may take 7-10 days to show improvement. There’s been no decline, and I think his AN meds which we just started today (they took two days to make them up for me!!) are really helping-I gave them at dinner time, and when it was antibiotic time he was really cutting up-so I think he must be feeling a bit better.
Just went out and bought his favorite foods so I can *see* that he’s eating-it’s hard sometimes to catch him eating and the last thing I need is some stasis from this-OR upset tummy, the metacam has to be given with food.
So he’s chomping down crazily on some cilantro and strawberries with Noot. Despite everything-he seems quite happy ![]()
(((Vibes for Chuck!!!)))
I would be most interested in seeing those xrays, if you get them ![]()
*starts a cheering squad for Chuck*
*waves around pompoms*
Gooooooooo Chuck! Get well sooon!!!

GET BETTER CHUCK!!!!!
K&K,
Thanks for starting this thread. (LPT, that’s adorable! Monkey, hand me the pom poms, will you?)
I also would like to see xrays.
He sounds like he’s responding, and in good hands with Noot. Does he lean on Noot to keep from spinning around? I imagine Noot can act as a buffer.
The good thing about syringes is that they go into that back area that has less sensitivity, so it doesn’t really hurt as much when you do all that.
Lots of work for you of course, but it’s for Chuck. *sighs in relief that he is in such good hands.* I agree that extra Metacam is a good idea.
Nose rubs for he and Noot, and some for Kahlua, and the rest of your zoo.
{{{{get well, brave boy}}}}}}}}}
Continued vibes to Chuck. It could take weeks to see improvement from head tilt so don’t get discouraged. It’s good he has Noot as a support system too.
Aw, Chuck… such a good boy. Echo, Calypso and I are joining that cheering squad! Go, Chuck!
Max, penny and i are cheering as well. good luck, chuck! we love you!! feel better!!
Thanks all!!
I forgot to say I also picked up two blankies from Ikea (we were there) that are faux sheepskin and backed (and I can rotate them to wash them) and it covers their whole area now.
I also made their ‘room’ smaller by 2/3. I don’t want him wandering where he can’t get to food or water, and really I want it so small he won’t wander.
Does he lean on Noot to keep from spinning around? I imagine Noot can act as a buffer.
Oh yes! In fact after I give him meds, Chuck wants to run away from mommy so as soon as I put Chuck down I just grab Noot and put him right beside Chuck-and now I add veggies right after and they both just settle right down (Trust me Noot is very angry with me, not only did I probably make Chuck sick in his eyes, but now I’m bugging Chuck to boot. You should see the looks he’s giving me-they could melt glass!!)
He’s eating well, he’s always been my ‘eats anything’ bun, but I’m glad to still see him eating with gusto!
Also picking up a tear jelly tonight for his eye. The vet said the AN meds can dry out mucous membranes, and he doesn’t blink that eye very much to begin with. Add it to the list of “why I hate my mommy” by Chuck ![]()
Blood results are back from the pathologist-do not indicate cancer. But the urea is elevated, so she wants me to take a urine sample so she can see if it’s just concentrated or not (If not-that could indicate liver failure, but it could just be he was a bit dehyrdrated when she drew blood) -so I have to collect pee…She said to just try to get pee on a surface that doesn’t absorb and scoop it up in a syringe..she needs .5 mls so it should be easy right? UGH-this may be tricky!!
Try putting him in a carrier to see if you can get him to pee in there – clean it very well first. I’ve heard of people having success doing it this way. I mean eventually he’ll have to pee right! Are you doing fluids? You can do the fluids then a little while later stick him in the carrier and watch if he pee’s.

Nope not doing fluids-he’s eating and drinking well and she tented him, but he still could have been dehydrated. THanks for the idea-that’s perfect because I’m doing a major clean in there tonight and I do put them in carriers when I clean. I will have to seperate him from Noot to make sure I don’t get noots pee-but that’s a GREAT idea THANK YOU. I was just going to sit in there ALL evening and watch him!!

LOL!!! That’s exactly what he’s saying!! He’s so mad at me-poor guy is trying to foot flick me after meds -If I put Noot right beside him after and put veggies down right that second, he will eat instead :p
Lesely…big picture….
Just think how much more love Chuck (& Noot) will have for you when this is all over and Chuck is ALL better!

and for KK!! I can’t get over how cute Chuck & Noot sound together.
(((Chuckles)))
regarding getting clean pee. I had to do this with Jack because we couldn’t get a sample at the vet. She gave me a needle syringe to collect the urine once he peed. But she said put tinfoil in the corner of the box when he goes in. I know when he goes into pee, so once he goes in, I give him a treat with one hand so he doesn’t get distracted by me putting the tinfoil in to catch some of the pee. I couldn’t leave it there before because litter could get on it when he jumped in and they didn’t want any other particles in it. That worked for me.
Thanks BB !!
I just did the carrier thing but he woudn’t pee. He likes to pee on blankies or litter boxes, and I stayed in his room with him to try to get a sample (had a wee cup to scootch under his bum) but no go. I’m going to ask our vet if she could express it to get a sample that might be easier.
Bad night tonight. He’s really tippy. When I put him in the carrier I had to put a box otherwise he was on his side. Back in his room he was very tippy but really good and really excited about veggies. We even had a good cuddle. Noot climbed in my lap-maybe all is forgiven. But I just went to turn out the lights and not only was Chuck on his back, but had spilled water all over him-just soaked. I gave him a warm bath to warm up and toweled off, and he’s currently double burrito’d in my lap. He’s got to dry off before I can even think of putting him back.
Removed all water-had three bowls. Think I’m going to have to do water bottle and sryinge chuck his water? That or excessive wet veggies…What do you guys think??
I’m soo tired and know I’m going to be up late. Thnking of calling my mum over to watch him tomorrow -thank god the weekend is coming up…or maybe take him to work with me-it’s scary car ride but I can supervise and make sure he’s upright…GAH! Stop tipping Chuck!! ![]()
He was so cold and I’m thinking I can’t blowdry because it’ll scare him-OH YEAH He’s deaf. So we blowdried He’s all warm and dry now. I put him in a carrier-the only way he’s not going to spin all night- and smoosh noot in there, but I’m worried Noot will get fed up and walk on him (it’s a tiny carrier) So I go out to the shed to get one of the carriers I used for the kittens-of COURSE I didn’t clean it out when I put it out there-becuase I’m lazy-so it’s one am and I’m cleaning a carrier in the shower. Get it all set up, full of veggies NO WATER and put Chuck in with Noot and he just starts rolling. He finally was on his side and I just pet him for a while -I think he kind of gave up. *cries*
Then he moved a bit and wanted up so I got him steady standing and he stayed up!! Moved and started munching food! All is good for the minute *Knocks on every peice of wood in the house* *three times*
I’m going for my shower now-if I don’t post again -he’s good for the night.
I think I will have to bring them in-I’ll just phone my boss first thing and tell her I really need to supervise so it’s at home or at work -wish she was a pet lover …*fingers crossed for not getting fired*
And seriously no more pets for me until I’m done vet school and can afford ‘hired help’ -I spent from the minute I got off work doing pet stuff; two rounds of meds, clean bunny room, dog park, dog bath and now averting wet catastrophe …I’m quite literally spent!
Oh dear. Hope you get some good rest tonight. I think wet veggies would be enough for him until tomorrow and saves you the worry of him falling into the water crock. It’s good he’s still so keen on his food – it may indicate he’s ok but just really disorientated. Poor baby. (((Chuck, please get better soon))) Hope things improve by morning.
Thanks Jers!! It means alot that you guys are sending vibes and pulling for him and giving opinions and thoughs!!!
So last night seems to have been as bad as it gets. This morning he was up (so he must have gotten up from laying down) was up when I went home at lunch to check and up at 2-3 when my mum came to check.
I phoned my vet and asked for more metacam-if it was not going to be more harm then good-I just figure if it’s harmless may as well have it for the anti-inflammatory properties and some pain relief to boot! She sent me a weeks worth, we discussed last night(I’m so shy I couldn’t even bring up xrays on disc that she promised-I’ll bug her next week) and she said phone her at home or on her cell if there are any changes over the weekend otherwise we chat Monday.
We may start a course of other antibiotics right away (continuing what he’s on) in case; at worst it’s another corse after-I’m very confiident with the drugs we can beat this. I didn’t want to put him through it-but he’s a champ as always!! I right him up on his legs and he just starts chomping on veggies. He even stands up on back legs to groom his mouth after meds after I get him up on his feet.
I’ve had a lot of hassle at work-and at home; why spend the money? Why put him through it? BUT seriously he’s happy, and not upset …I just think if we put him down before going through it -fine. But now that we’re into it=I want to get him through the woods!

Oh yeah! Being that it’s ear infection it can be turned around quickly. If it was something more serious – or turns out to be, (God forbid) then obviously you reassess from there. When people hassle, maybe give a hypothetical scenario involving one of their pets then ask them what they’d do.
Yeh-some of these people would just euth their pet they think high vet bills are ripoffs and all vets drive ferraris *head desk*
Not a bad night last night, he was up this morning OK and we did meds and had a good cuddle. He was down again this afternoon, So Noot is back in his room eating normal food and running around (normal food as in-in a bowl
) and Chuck is chillling in my lap-he’s still eating great, and he’s movely upright when I have him in my lap cuddling. May have to figure out how to sleep like this
Putting out feelers to friends on FB to see if anyone is off and can pet sit him during the work week for me. I’m really hoping Dave’s neice can-she’s babysitting age and a big bunny lover (hugely allergic, but she is around her dad’s girlfriends buns all the time); She also has year round school with different breaks then regualr and I know there is some fall break sometime… I really just need someone to comfort him when he’s down and make sure he’s not stuck so he can get up..
I just had a thought…would his blindness in this situation actually be a blessing? Like if he’s dizzy, then not seeing the room swing around would be a good thing wouldn’t it? Is it like vertigo he’s experiencing or is it a something else – like muscle weakness or spasms????
That’s what we’re thinking too-being dizzy comes from your vision and your body info not matching up-but he has no vision so he is likely less dizzy then others might be. We do have him on meds for it just in case.
It’s probably closest to vertigo-I read that most with head tilt (From ec or ear infection) roll from it-he’s rolling towards his tilt-it seems like he thinks if he rolls to that side he can straiten up-but I’m probably reading too much into it.
I’m syringing water and doing wet veggies, but I’m going to talk to my vet about maybe just doing sub-q as well-as long as it won’t hurt him I may as well do some sub q to ensure he’s good.
Snapped some pictures…these are bad-my camera got chewed up (BAD dog) so these are from my mom’s old camera ![]()
These are from the night Chuck originally got tilted and we were considering euthing. They cuddling made me really reconsider and phone the vet.

You can hardly see the tilt compared to now…

These are from tonight during good moments-where he’s mostly upright (Chuck and Noot are on the couch with me to be supervised)

Nothing slows down eating!

(These are in sequence btw-This is Mikey wanting in the picture-and Chuck is back up again)

Awww. This is so sad. I’m sending lots of healthy and get well (((vibes!))) for Chuck. I love those pictures, sad as they are, it’s great to see Noot constantly at his side. It sounds like you’re going a great job taking care of him and even getting him a nanny!
Hehe. Good luck finding a babysitter for him!
Awww poor Chuck! *snuggle snuggle snuggle* Hope you can get it fixed for him! ((((more vibes))))
Oh gosh…seeing it really brings it home – no wonder you got scared. But then you see him munching on his greens hehehe. (((Chuck)))
In pic 6 it that when he leans into his tilt that you mentioned? He looks to have gone onto his side but then his head is upside down looking – but it actually isn’t is it? It’s the same tilt it’s just that his body is not upright ?
I love how Noot has that “Hurt him and you die” look *more snuggles*
You are doing such a great job taking care of Chuck. I’m so glad that he found a home with you because I know a lot of people would not have had the patience to get to this point! I think you made a good decision to give treating him a try, especially if he is still eating. I would imagine that a bunny that was miserable, or that was in a lot of pain, would not be eating so well. I’m glad he has Noot by his side too. Me and all my bunnies are sending healing wishes to Chuck!
Oh that poor baby! 0_0 Honestly, Lesley, if I were close enough to you, I’d babysit your sweet bunny pair in half a heartbeat! Their obvious devotion to one another is the most touching thing I have ever seen in my life!
I have had vertigo flu before. It would seem to me that I had trouble rolling over in bed without taking the whole room with me even if my eyes were shut, so I can imagine Chuck must be experiencing a bit of disorientation. Good Lord, I just want to scoop him up and cuddle him to pieces from here…but I know with Noot there I’D be the one in pieces if I tried! lolz!
Bless you, Lesley…you are such a good bunny mom! All available healing vibes for Chuck on the way from the Great White North! ((((((((((((((Chuck)))))))))))))
Aww, poor Chuck!! I was really sick the past 2 days after a reaction to the H1N1 vaccine (whole nother story…lol!!) so I am so sorry I missed your post, KK! Keeping you and Chuck in my thoughts and prayers. *Hugs*
Daww, his little head. He’s so lucky to have Noot. Also – I love how your dog is like “I wanna be in the picture too!”
In pic 6 it that when he leans into his tilt that you mentioned? He looks to have gone onto his side but then his head is upside down looking – but it actually isn’t is it? It’s the same tilt it’s just that his body is not upright ?
Yes his body is mostly upright-his body is tiliting too though…right now he must be tired there is no standing going on…
I’m starting to feel the rolling is happening when he’s rolling is when he’s trying to get to something-if I grab food or syringe water-he settles right back in. So hopefully sub q will help that!
It’s safe to say I’m sleeping on the couch with these two in the box (Lined a box with blankies -it’s high walled) and I will hear him that way.
I found a sitter!!! My brother’s girlfiriend works part time (and used to have a bunny) and I just phoned her (it’s late here but everyone in my fam-including sig others are night hawks lol) so I asked her if she could be here during the week when she’s not working-and hopefully I can talk my mom into doing the rest. I told her (my bro’s gf) it’s going to be petting him to keep him comfy and secure and she can watch TV and eat our food-she said that sounds pretty hard but she will do it :p YEAH!!!! I’m so glad we have movie collection no one could rival and two game stations! She’s so sold :p
Honestly, Lesley, if I were close enough to you, I’d babysit your sweet bunny pair in half a heartbeat! Their obvious devotion to one another is the most touching thing I have ever seen in my life!
Thank you
I know you would
Not that you don’t have enough pets and kids to look after
Thank you
…but I know with Noot there I’D be the one in pieces if I tried! lolz!
LOL he totally looks like that hey? I will have to photo him for disapproving rabbits one day. He’s actually really sweet and unsure type rabbit-but he always looks sort of angry :p LOL
THANK YOU all for the support, help and thoughts!! I really appreciate it!!
Ah…I know this has got to be so hard. I know that even if he doesn’t have eyesight – that spinning feeling can still keep him unbalanced. I am guessing it must feel similar to when you try to go to sleep when you’ve had way too much to drink (I’m JUST guessing of course. :
) Also, when I had a nasty inner ear infection along time ago, I I didn’t have to have my eyes open to feel disoriented. I could close my eyes and feel the room spinning. I think it has alot to do with how your body feels balanced – whether you “feel” crooked, and many times opening my eyes would help set things straight a bit. Also, if I sat still, it would settle down, but if I moved, it would start the whole strange feeling again, so the more he tries to move the worse the spinning may be. (of course, I am talking from MY experiences with an inner ear infection)
I can’t remember if you said, but did they test for E.C. just in case? I know Rucy had to go through this (due to an ear infection) and it was awful to watch. (i would just cry and cry when I saw her spin- for the first few days) You just don’t want them to suffer, it seems so horrible, but it is amazing how resilient and adaptive some bunnies can be. If I am remembering correctly it took Rucy about a week to recover. (though i was warned it could take longer) I am continuing to send “HEAL QUICKLY” vibes.
Ooo what lovely pictures! Indy, Bun and I send tons of snuggles to healing vibes to Chuck. Noot is a doll too! So sorry you are going through all of this, I know he is worth it all though!
oh goodness.
(((((more vibes)))))
I can’t remember if you said, but did they test for E.C. just in case?
She didn’t b/c she just did a month course on it-and basically the tests don’t mean anything (they can have it-and it can mean nothing) we’re chatting Monday and likely going to start an EC med-he does have an ear infection from results but we why not kill two birds with two stones? So basically unless anything dramatic happens tomorrow we’re going to go ahead and treat for both

I know! It’s so upsetting but I think its upsetting me more-he’s upside down rigth now grooming his face and eating at the same time…
I heard from some on ‘on the wonk’ and ‘disabled rabbits’ that it can take months. He really seems to be doing well other then the rolling (GAWD I wish that would stop) -talked to the vet today and she said I can dose the anti-naseauant three times a day and to go ahead and try (we did two today) tbh it’s so hard to tell if it’s helping.
Thanks again all!! It means a ton!
*HUGS TO ALL* ![]()
Regarding the e.c. – It’s true that the test positive can mean they were only exposed and they may never have symptoms, (it’s more about the comparison of titer levels from my understanding) but I guess the vets I am used to feel that IF it i could be a symptom from e.cuniculi, it’s best to catch it early to lessen any permanent damage. And when I mean catch it, I mean IF the test come out positive then give them treatment regardless. (and later the titer levels can be compared) Basically treating for both possibilities right away.
I also know that E.cuniculi is still an unknown area in many respects with lots of continued learning and so at this point, we just have to trust our vets, I guess. If you do have any questions about it though, feel free to email me.
OH, and one thing I know that helped one bunny who had more of a long-term tilt was the rub the neck area as the contracted muscles as well as the stretched muscles can feel alot of strain.
At least he doesn’t seem to be too nauseous if he’s eating so that’s good news! And I agree, sometimes it can be harder on us than them!
Hang in there
Yes in fact I think he test positive on his senior wellness exam when I got him
There is the ear infection so that’s why she treated that first-but we spoke today and we’ll connecting Monday and I just really want to treat for EC just in case and I think she does too.
Thanks BB and you know what if you think of anything let me know here or via email-I really love this vet, she’s the only specialist in rabbits here, she continues her education, she is super compassionate, and she’s the one who saved my parent’s dog (And the only rabbit vet in Edmonton who passed my ‘I am looking for a rabbit vet and have some questions’ quiz) But I know she can be conservative in treatment (Not in testing obviously
) so I did have to push a bit for the EC treatment even though it’s very likely he has it and it’s not the cause…
Seriously if I get into vet school (When I ) I am going to sooo focus on this when I’m done!!
So you kind of massaged the neck area? I’ve kind of been doing that but really really gently…I’m in pain from bending over and washing the dog…so I can’t imagine…
Aw, poor little Chuck. Those pics were sad but sweet. Noot is probably a great comfort to him right now.
I love the way Noot squeezes in between Chuck and the couch so he can be right there against him.
Hang in there.
I’m not sure the tilt is getting better (Ooops Had to get up -he just peed on me
) the tilt looks very much the same but maybe he’s just really adjusted to it!
We had a great night-I brought them to bed with me in a box beside my bed. Now-I don’t wake up for fire alarms, my five alarm clocks or anything short of rock concert-but I woke up each time they were moving around(bout eight time during the night
). I gave some veggies and that seemed to do the trick. I really think he starts rolling when he needs something !
We had a really good day today too-even when he rolls he seems to be able to get himself up ok afterwards! Tilted but all four on the floor! He’s even snoozing mostly upright
I think this is getting easier for both of us!
oh my goodness… sweet chuck! i’m so glad that he seems to be adjusting a wee bit. still must be frustrating not to see progress in the tilt but hopefully slightly less heart-wrenching if he has all four on the floor.
(((((((((big big hugs & snuggles to chuck & his guardian angel noot)))))))))
i totally agree with mimz… noot & chuck’s devotion to eachother is truly touching. those pics just melted my heart <3
ps… k&k… you’re amazing! “Now-I don’t wake up for fire alarms, my five alarm clocks or anything short of rock concert-but I woke up each time they were moving around”… haha… i can imagine! i can sleep through a nuclear bomb myself but if my furries make wierd noises suddenly i’m awake. now i know what mothers are talking about ![]()
I’ve just only skimmed this thread, I can’t look at head tilt without getting upset. :0( Have you talked to the vet about giving him dramamine? Supposedly that makes them not feel dizzy and helps with the rolling.
oh my goodness… sweet chuck! i’m so glad that he seems to be adjusting a wee bit. still must be frustrating not to see progress in the tilt but hopefully slightly less heart-wrenching if he has all four on the floor.
Yes-seeing him adapt as he has-I feel so much better opting for treatment -I didn’t want to put him through it, but he’s such a trooper!!

We’re doing meclazine
Same idea ![]()
Oh and I wanted to add that I’m stupid
The chloropalm is a broad spectrum but also treats anerobic protists-so it treats both ear infection and E. Cuniculi. We are giving it until Thursday and if there isn’t dramatic change we are adding fenbendazole as well.
*Knocking on every peice of wood in the house*
I think Chuck is LESS tilted!!!
I *THINK* I’m seeing improvement. He wasn’t ‘down’ at all today!! He leaned onto his side when I put him down after meds…but that’s it. In fact he is standing REALLY well-not tilted on his feet at all (his whole body was tilted) and his head seems less tilty. He still gets rolly when I pick him up for meds (Unfortunatley I can’t give them not picked up, he is stubborn about taking them-but I use med time to change bedding so I’d have to anyways) but quickly stands again!! (I heard the rolly after being picked up is picking up sets off the spins).
I know he’s well hydrated because he’s peeing twice in the evening that I can observed. And I’ve offered water to Noot (who is eating same stuff as Chuck-but Noot is a much bigger drinker) and he doesn’t want it…Also I’m pinch testing Noot. Seems wrong to pinch Chuck
So I think a 90% veggie diet has really kept them both hydrated really well!
I don’t want to do the happy dance yet….BUT I want to do the happy dance!!!
Yay! I won’t do a preemptive happy dance until you tell me too
But all the bunnies and I are ready in waiting with our best happy dance moves.
Oh, that’s encouraging…I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed and holding my breath. Continued healing and hugs!
Well it’s been a week on meds now right? So this may be the turning point. Hopefully!{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((VIBEES)))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Sammy and I ready with Jazz Paws ![]()
Monkey is ready with raisins!
Oh yay! *vibes to Chuck*
pinky’s ready to ‘uncork’ the raisin box lid too… (((((((((go chuck!)))))))))
Aw… YAY!! Atta boy, Chuck!! I’ve got all my fingers and two sets of bunny ears crossed!!
I am so sorry to hear this is happening to poor Chuck. I dont’ know how you do it but continue to hang in there. It is heartbreaking to see them in this situation falling over and head stuck like that. I would be cryign my eyes out.
Be strong for him. I know it has to be hard. I pray and send vibes he heals up and rights himself quickly and for good.
Babybunsmum I am the same way I sleep like the dead but cotton or Ruby thumps or bangs I am up like a shot. A groggy shot but up.
I can’t thank y’all enough for all the support and tips and help!!!
Soooo unfortunately I was likely seeing what I wanted to
We started the new anitibiotic today and hopefully we will see some improvment.
He’s LOVING the neck massages
He’s such a trooper-he really seems unbothered by all this.
He’s lost a touch of weight-I posted about it in diet-looking for some fattening foods (I’m trying carrots apples strawberries etc) I’m SUPER glad he was chubby to start but I want him to stay that way
I have his xrays but I can’t get them to load into photobucket. Dave promised he would help me tomorrow so hopefully I can share then!
Anyways long story short-still treating. And he’s still happy and hungry and pooping=so that’s all I care about it at the end of the day
Thanks again all!!
Many bunny thanks ![]()
Vibes to Chuck. He’s one of my favorites on the forum and I’m glad to hear that he’s at least a happy bun even in sickness.
And he’s still happy and hungry and pooping
That’s great news!
I love the new antibiotic-there is much less to give so it’s much easier. I had to go really slow with the other to keep him from spitting it out (really just not swallowing and letting it fall out of his mouth). He’s still significantly tilted but doing really really well. I upgraded them to a large dog bed instead of a tub/bin that they were in (though they’ll still sleep in the bin).
I have his xrays!! Dave needs to do something to them-they are in some program called ImaSight and it’s not letting me export, copy paste or anything. That’s the extent of my computer knowledge LOL But Dave promised me he would put them in photobucket for me tonight-so hopefully xrays soon!! I just think they are interesting to look at and want to share ![]()
Sooo Dave actually uploaded them(xrays) for me!!! YEAH!!
First pictures of Chuck tonight. This is during a good moment, but then again so were the previous pics. Personally I think he looks a bit better?

And a top down (Mikey is ‘photobombing” this)

Now for the xrays (Though I probably didn’t need to say that-you could probably guess by looking at them

Thought this one was cool-you can see his teeth look great!!

There are a couple more xrays but just of same positions and not as good as these ones ![]()
Thanks for sharing the xrays! So interesting. So do they help indicate anything? Can we see problems with his ears somehow? This could be very educational.
I can’t remember if you said you were treating for e.cuniculi now at the same time, but I wanted to let you know that one of the newest drugs for e.cuniculi did seem to help Bailey – It was called Ponazuril. She had started on fenbendazole much earlier on, but then later switched to Ponazuril when it came on the market. I know that you don’t know e.c has anything to do with Chuck’s symptoms at this point, but I had just remembered what worked best for Bailey. Though she did not have head tilt, her hind leg weakness was due to e.cuniculi, and it did improve with that later drug.
So do they help indicate anything?
Well their are two main causes but there are other causes like stroke, tumor abscess-so they eliminated that; AND the ‘bulba’ (sp??) are thickened which may be incidental but may be something so they were good to do-I’d like-eventually to do xrays on everyone but at this point only when necessary.

Thank you! Yes we were treating for both and are now doing baytril to try; I think our plan is to try and try until it’s gone. I will be talking to her next week and mention the pnazuril-thank you!!
Teeth! It amazing how big incisors are and how far back the molars start. Thanks! & Thanks Dave!
Xrays disorientate me….can’t read them at all. I’ve copied 2 from above. Is this top of spine? I can see difference in the 2 protuberances but I think its from the angle of the shot. It the dark part in centre the marrow maybe? Like one side is got that in the xray vision but not picked up on the other because of the angle.
Am I making any sense….![]()

K&K, he DEFINITELY looks better in these photos. I love the way Noot has figured out how to prop him up on his bad side, but even so, he is much straighter. Everything indicates that all is working well. I really didn’t expect to see any progress sooner, since head tilt is a weeks to months long ailment. This is about the right timing for when stuff starts making a noticeable difference.
I’m just like Jersey when it comes to xrays. But they are really, really interesting. Thank Dave, please.
I find it interesting that the teeth shot looks so much like a horse’s mouth! Horses also have that toothless area between incisors and molars. So cool.
I’m so glad you were able to get the xrays up.
Thanks everyone!!
Thanks Pam -I was sure I was seeing what I wanted to so I’m glad for another opinion. He’s also really got himself figured out-he can balance on his back legs to groom his face which I think is pretty amazing!

LOL Um…no sense at all ![]()
The dark parts in the centre are his ‘bulba’ they are basically round thing at the base of the ear canal. They are thickend which is why they are showing up so much-this could be nothing , why he’s deaf, or someting we need to treat after the tilt is treated. They shold be nice light circels like his eyes (you can sort of see his eye sockets in one of the pics) -I thnk thats what you were asking about.
Actually I have a hard time with xrays-one fo the reasons I wanted them-she spent a long time going over everything with me on them.
Hehe OK the first xray you posted is a top down-so where the R is-is his right hand side, and left is left of the picture.
The second one-that’s a hard one
He’s partially upside down in that one. In the top right you can see his arms. the face is pretty blurry and his ears are dangling bottom left ![]()
I have to be so thankful for pupypads!! They are saving so much laundry (AND I cannot give them bunny-chewed-holey-towels so he doesn’t get caught in them ;he can only have the good towels ![]()
Ahhh…puppy pads are luff! ^_^ <3<3<3 They're an absolute MUST if Mimzy is going to have any fun time on my bed.
Lesley, Chuck looks WORLDS better to me. Much improved. You’re doing a fabulous job! (And what a trooper Noot is too! They look so sweet together!)
Oh Heck!
I have been out of town and then my computer was down – So, I am just now finding out about everything that has happed.
K&K you sure are an awesome bunny mom! Noot is the best friend a bunny could want! And Chuck is such a trooper!
{{{{{{{{{{{{Kay & Winston and I send loads of Get well vibes and bunny Kisses!!}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
Glad Chuck is doing better. Noot is such a good caretaker isn’t he! I’m glad he and Chuck have each other.
I’m only just back on the board after some insane real life stuff, but I’m so glad that Chuck continues to improve. Noot and he have been SO good for each other. I know you’re just overwhelmed, but just looking at the pics – even if they are the best of the day – there is definitely improvement. I will keep them both (and you
in my thoughts
Thanks all!!
Nothing really new to report. His weight is coming up again after a slight loss. He’s eating well and Noot is tolerating almost no exercise to be at his side. Meds are going well, and I report to my vet tomorrow-see what she thinks. ![]()
Noot is tolerating almost no exercise to be at his side.
Aw….Noot needs little bunny wings…what an angel he is for Chuck.
Course I had to break this up to give meds
How cute!! They were just laying like this-this wasn’t an ‘in motion’ capture ![]()

Awww chuck was giving a big thank you hug to Noot! <3 <3 <3
They are just the cutest… they put a smile on my face to start the day! 🙂
That is the sweetest thing <3
Chuck: Evrything’s spinning…except my buddy!
OMG…that is just so endearing.I am so glad Chuck has such a wonderful buddy.
Well things have gone a bit downhill-the tilt is worse again. We’ve now finished two rounds of antibiotics, and are just doing meclizine right now. I phoned my vet but she was delayed in surgery today -really bad teeth on a dog I guess part of the jaw was ruined too. She doesn’t work Wednesdays (that’s when the vet who is allergic to rabbits works, only wed, so she is off wed as she sees rabbits) -shèes back thurs and off for two weeks vacation-if we cant touch base on thursday during the day Im just going to truck in there after work and catch her-she said to call at home if I need but dont really think no improvment qualifies as an emergency.
We talked already about her vacation and shes left instructions in the file for me to order (thru the other vet) any of the drugs weve (sorry some keys arent working on this keyboard so excuse my punctuation or lack there of) used so far so i can kind of order my own treatment while shes gone, as needed. but I want to touch base and ask about doing a 28 day of panacur-read that was often successful.
oh and I bought a crib! (not preggo!! LOL) Hes not rolling anymore and I think he needs more room-Noot too I think-and I think the crib will be easier to access then going thru an NIC gate or whatever _hopefully works well.
Oh no, poor Chuck! ((((((((((((((((more mega-healing vibes!!!!!!!!!!)))))))))))))))))))
Hang in there K&K…I know this has to be very frustrating for you. ![]()
Oh, I’m sorry to hear he’s down a bit downhill. That was the first drug that we used and it did seem to help, (and I have heard it has been helpfulf for others too). Then later we tried Ponazuril, and that really seemed to make the biggest difference for Bailey in the sense it stopped the decline. Later we did massages, physical therapy and acupuncture which really helped her build her strength back to her hind legs.
THat’s the other thing I was going to ask her about-Mandy my parents dog is getting acupuncture at her clinic-so I’m not sure if it’s my vet or one of the others who does it. The sessions are 100$ each for the dog-maybe even if it’s a wee bit less I could swing some sessions.
What about a warm compress on the neck? Like you know those heat things you put on your neck? I was wondering about that too.
Well I destroyed the rabbit room tonight-I wanted to take it down and redo it anyways-and had the crib to add, so I took down all infastructure (cube stuff-and window seats) and they are all in a bin soaking in bleach water-cuz I’m just that kind of person (ie. If I’m going to do something I’m going to do it the long hard way lol) and I think this weekend I’ll put in some features for Kahua and Rupert and give him back his window seat-improved of course.
Felt sooo bad-was sititng in there giving chuck some critical care (I don’t know why I try-he’s eating well and won’t take much-but every little bit) and Rupert jumped up on his condo to get to his window seat…looked around…got down..got back up…poor guy!!! He was quite upset not having his seat-In fact I’m not even sure I can wait until the weekend to rebuild it
He and I had a good cuddle after though and that was nice-he normally does not cuddle much with me but I’ve kind of been ignoring those two for the most part with everything else.
Chuck and Noot are settled in their crib and hopefully even though I just finished cleaning and stuff-I can fall asleep soon!
I will talk to her on Thursday come heck or high water=so I’ll let you know what we are going to try. Thanks BB for the suggestions-I will run those by her too. Mimz thanks for the vibes ![]()
Poor Chuck, I do hope he gets better soon, he looks like such a sweetie!
Got the panacur today. My vet is not optomistic about it, she said general concensus is that the drugs we’ve done treat what it does better; and that it pops up on the internet from time to time so people want it
BUT she said it won’t cause harm and we’ll try it. She gave me 30 days worth, and she is back from vacation in 15 days so that’s good stuff-also ordered me a double order of meclizine (it’s 50$ for eight days, and I assume a lot of that is the compounding fee-it has to come from a specialty pharmacy here as it’s new in Canada-so I hope if we order more it will be less in the long run)
Her thoughts are we’ve treated and he’ll recover in time -she IS optomistic about him recovering just not the panacur.
Anyways we got it, and why not try
I’m going to take some more pics tonight (chucks snoozing right now) so my thread isn’t just boring long updates but has some cute pictures. ![]()
Ok as promised pics of Chuck …they are now in their crib in the bunny room.

hehe thats so cute, a bunny crib ![]()

Okay, I think these two need to be officially dubbed:
![]()
(lolz…found it at noisebot…they have some good tee shirts and some rude ones, but I thought of Chuck and Noot when I saw this one!)
When you said you were buying a crib I was thinking the tall kind with the bars on the side and was wondering how long it would take the Nootster to chew through it to freedom? ![]()
It’s so cool how he stays right by his buddy. Brothers in arms, definitely…or at least paws.
Does he ever want to exercise and if so, what do you do? Are those Chuck’s medicine times perhaps?
Thanks guys!
Mimz-that is too funny! The eh team lol!!
He really doesn’t want to-he gets nervous without Chuck in sight-when I do meds he just glares the whole time
I give him some time out on the couch or in the hallway and he doesn’t want. He’s a digger and a chewer so he’s been doing some playing in the crib ; ie….diggin the pee pad and making a mess lol He wasn’t too busy of a bunny but did some zoomies now and then. I think he’s more concerned with Chuck then exercise-which is working out great for Chuck and I
I still can’t believe how lucky I am to have Noot there for Chuck ![]()
Day five on panacur-still doing well-not perfect but really good. He’s really fighting me on meds so I think he’s feeling good. My tummy is scratched up=Chuck feels better lol
Have to pick up more meclizine tomorrow-that’s the expensive one….hate buying that one!
I should take a picture of how much veggies these two stinkers get (keep in mind they aren’t drinking water-I use Noot to guage if Chuck is hydarated, Noot is offered water 3x a day and refuses still-and he’s always drank more then Chuck; plus pinch testing Noot-so I think the veggies are doing the trick) I’m spending 20$ every three days…It’s astounding-but he’s eating like a mad man and hasn’t lost any more weight and has regained a touch. So worth it.
I think everyone will be getting a picture of Chuck and a copy of his vet bill for Christmas this year LOL ![]()
I think everyone will be getting a picture of Chuck and a copy of his vet bill for Christmas this year
ROFL
I’m glad the panacur is working. I’ve used that on a couple of my rabbits for a few different conditions. It’s pretty gross stuff though.
Well I don’t know if it’s working-this is the third antibiotic/antiprotozoan but I wanted to try everything-she said it can just take time too
we haven’t been going backwards though !
It’s such a small amount (compared to the chloropalm) that he doesn’t mind at all-and I give him the strawberry meclizine after for him ![]()
Not a good day-usually I give a ton of veggies about 5-6 times a day. This amount is nothing short of what you’d give a bunny for a whole day…and they eat it all-both are good eaters.
When I came home at lunch, morning veggies were for the most part still there. So I added cilantro -Chuck’s fav to see if he’d eat it. He had a bit but not much. Came home after work-armed with raisins-still not much happening with the veggies. Chuck accepted a few raisins-but he’s snoozing so I guess I’ll give him some time.
I’m freaking out because a) force feeding Chuck is not easy and b) my vet isn’t home until friday -she went on vacation. I could conceivably see another vet, but frankly I haven’t found really any in the city I like, and the e-vet is the only thing open after six that takes rabbits. I would have to go armed with instructions ….

Oh rats about your trusted vet being on vacation. I am sooo sorry. This must be stressful. Hungry Check Vibes and peace vibes for you!
Could he have a bout of gas maybe? Please update when you can. {{{Chuck}}}
K&K? How’s he doing?
Thank you guys for all the vibes!! He still hadn’t touched much when I went to bed last night-but I had seen him munch a grape, a raisin and a peice of cilantro so I was worried but not camping beside them in the bunny room. I took out all the day’s food, changed bedding etc-and put down fresh. I don’t know why he wasn’t munching away all day but this am-everything was gone just like normal.
Not much action on morning veggies when I came home at lunch. And Chuck was a asleep. So I put some kale in front of him. I love watching him do this-he’ll be asleep and I’ll put food down..and he’ll start to smell-and then munch in his sleep. Then with a start he wakes up and lunges for the food and starts eating like a mad man. It’s cute-and boy was it relieving to see!!!
Still not eating too too much-like not normal but we’re still eating and I’m so relieved. My vet should be in either tomorrow or friday if we need her. I had put together a list of what I would need, and how I was going to approach the other vet at the practice-like how do you tell someone they need to see your pet that they just don’t see (they just plain don’t do rabbits) and tell them it’s fine-here’s the prescription and doses I need-just write ’em out for me and we’re all good? I am praying I don’t have to do that-not sure how well I could pull that off ![]()
Good bun, Chuck! *applause* Atta boy!
Isn’t kale just the wonder drug when it comes to bunnies? I haven’t seen my three turn it down yet, no matter how they are feeling at the time, or whether they are unconscious or not!
((((((((((((((((((continued vibes for more eating and less need for vet)))))))))))))))))
*pats K&K on the back* Hang in there, champ. You’re doing great! ![]()
Yea!
I agree about kale, MM. Sammy eats it BEFORE her treats! Been meaning to ask if it’s OK daily or if it’s one of the greens with extra something and needs to be used sparingly? (Too lazy to search our own site LOL)
K&K, I would suggest that you ask your vet to call, email or write out a request to other vets to allow them to prescribe on her behalf if she is away. Then if she’s contacted them, you can go do a pick up as needed. Not sure they are allowed to do this, but I can’t see why not.
Healing vibes to Chuck.
Awwwww – I can just imagine Chuck slowly waking to the nummy smell of Kale – nose a twitching….
I hope all continues well.
My buns must be the only 4 to not like Kale. lol They wont even touch it.
Kale IS one of those that should be used a little more sparingly. In my one bun if she does eat it she gets gas.
This is from HRS site:
(!)=Use sparingly. High in either oxalates or goitrogens and may be toxic in accumulated quantities over a period of time
I love hearing about Chuck. I dont post much but I do stalk the site daily. lol I am glad he is doing so much better.
I’m just now having a chance to go back thru and get all caught up… You’re doing such a great job with Chuck and I’m so glad that he has Noot to keep him company. They really are a special pair.
(((Chuck!)))

Well she put on the account open prescriptiosn for baytril, meclizine, chlorpalm and/or panacur. BUT that’s not what I would have needed -thankfully she’s back now

With the blind, deaf and tilty-I’m not worrying about any calcium or oxylates
Just eating
But normally it’s not one I buy often…at 1.50$ for four leaves-I generally don’t feed much at all
lol
Thanks again for all the well wishes and hang in theres
I get blank stares telling anyone else about him ![]()
*appoints self official Chuck cheerleader* “Go CHUCK! Eat CHUCK! Get Better CHUCK! YEEEAAAHHH!!!”
I love hearing about him. But especially when he’s feeling better.
What does Noot think of kale, btw?
I usually give the three buns a little sprig of it at least once a week, but with Mimzy’s fondness for it, he gets a tiny extra helping.
Has anyone besides me seen red kale? If so, do you recommend it?

And Chuck was a asleep. So I put some kale in front of him. I love watching him do this-he’ll be asleep and I’ll put food down..and he’ll start to smell-and then munch in his sleep.
Oh good Lord that is adorable!!! You have to catch that on video one day.
I’m glad to hear that at least he’s eating now at least even if it’s less at times. Whew. I hope he continues to keep his appetite up. You said that the med you would need she had not included in the open prescription list, would she do that now?
Sending out continued healing vibes for Chuck!
Yeah, I wouldn’t worry about Kale anyway! Seems like kale is a great veggie to get rabbits eating. Also try dill, for some reason that works for my rabbits as well.
How’s he today?
Hope Chuck is feeling good for Christmas!!!
Thanks all !
Yes BB I think she would put them on file-in fact I may just ask her to put meds on file for me if I she’s not in for any reason (ie. she doesn’t work wednesdays) We’re chatting soon so I’ll bug her about that-I’d hate to see another vet-I’m not very trusting.
Chuck’s doing quite well-eating good again (Stocked up on lots of kale lol) and is snuggled up with Noot and the lion right now.
Noot’s not too fond of Kale so it’s all for Chuck. Noot won’t eat carrots either -so that’s a good veggie to give -I know exactly how much is being eaten then
Noot is nutso on parsley though
It’s very sweet, Noot wakes Chuck up if the food smell doesn’t -he runs circles around Chuck until he wakes up ![]()

Awwwwwww…*wibbles*.
I love telling people Chuck and Noot stories.
I read just about every post to my daughter. We are hanging on the edge of our seats for updates! ^_^
No kale OR carrots for Noot? 0_o Good gracious, what kind of rabbit IS he?? lolz!
He sure is a good buddy for Chuck.
I pray they have many long and comfortable years together.

Thanks guys
Noot certainly was the best decision I ever made-I really can count on him to always look after Chuck for me. Chucks never been quite fond of me (I mean, I come out of the dark and wash his eye and now I’m giving him yucky medicine-it’s the sky that feeds him
) but with Noot there for comfort he seems to really have spirit and will. They definitely both give me grief when I’m changing the bedding lol ![]()
lol Noot glares at you
Oh Chucky get well so Mum and Noot can relax again.
Is that interesting about Noot and Chuck. Noot sounds like such a caretaker which has turned out to be just perfect for Chuck. It’s neat to see animals taking care of animals.
Thanks guys!
Sarita-they loved basil -I’ve never given that before-good suggestion
My mom hasn’t seen Chuck in a while and was astounded with his progress. I will post progression photo’s soon. It’s too early to get excited but he’s almost normal imo and my mom’s ![]()
New and improved Chuck pix, please.
Tomorrow for sure ![]()
*poke*
I’m going to take away Monkey’s stick
LOL
Whoops-totally forgot-I took them, and uploaded them-final step was missed.
Sooo-does he look better? I think so-but I’m his mommy (he loathes mommy though
 ![]()

Just put the litter box in maybe 10 days ago-Chuck isn’t using it yet *sigh* he was SO clean before-but Noot is a little bit. Still I’m using about 6-9 puppy pads a day (3 per change) and 3-5 blankies…..soooo much laundry and garbage ![]()

The lion has dreadlocks now it’s been washed so much ![]()

He looks almost strait here-that’s how it is-sometimes he looks great and a few minutes later tilted…I am going to sigh so loud you will all hear it when this is over ![]()

Good news-just added water back in a few days ago-Chuck isn’t rolling at all anymore. He’s eating so many veggies I don’t think he’s drinking at all but Noot is and it’s just nice being able to put a bowl of water back in there. My moms’ friend gave me such a look when I said my bunnies haven’t had water in six weeks…Well actually almost 7.5 weeks (Nov 8!) since this all started
Yeah I’m ready for some Chuck-being-straitness
he is lookign MUCH better in my opinion! Yay for Chuck! And yay for Noot for being a wonderful bun buddy for Chuck
And you can take away my stick, but I warn you… Theres plenty more I can get my paws on right outside ![]()
LOL I wouldn’t take your stick away
Just kidding
He does look better to me all the time. He almost looks like the first day of tilt now-just barely noticable. And I wouldn’t say it’s him coping-at one point the improvement was likely him just getting his bearing strait but now-it seems like getting better. I cannot believe how long it’s been! We were at the vet within 24 hours of it starting!
I’m so glad things are going well for Chuck! And those pictures are so adorable…there so cute in their little crib.
Oh yeah, he looks good!!! He might have a permanent tilt but if he’s not rolling, that’s great! You only need to look back at pix in this thread to see the imporvement.
Look at all that kale
I was wondering if the portacot might have helped with Noot’s litter habits. No such luck?
Bah-Noot is using the litter box when I plop him in is-he seems to pee if I pick him up and set him down. I’ve been ‘good boying’ him and all but I’m sure he’d pee no matter what if I set him down.
TBH Chuck is the one with dirty bum so I’m wondering-Chuck has always been the litter box one-always clean-and maybe he just needs some time to adjust-whereas Noot -right in front of me-pees where ever-YET Noot is the clean one these days and CHuck is the one who got a bum bath tonight.
Look at all that kale
I know-seriously that’s what is put in there 5-8 times a day-I GET the term ‘eating me out of house and home’ now
WHAT a freaking sweety-he totally gets it-I put him bum in a wet sink with top out and he just sits nice for the bath. Im sure you all can imagine that -but seriously Chuck is a bad bad boy LOL
He often-usually-draws blood at med time and he holey hates me for bath time or eye cleaning
So I’m totally beyond impressed with his skills the last few bum baths-he seems to be starting to trust me!!!
-I’m trying to do it very minimally-though -he’s grooming himself and they are grooming each other-and though I know I’m changing bedding enough (Arguably a lot) he’s still got a dirty bum-Noot is clean-that’s how I know I’m doing it enough. And I’m doing it as much as I can-getting up once in the middle of the night to change it-each and every night-so I’m not sure why-but he gets a stinky bum after a bit
I think-he may be pottying and staying in that spot since it does absorb like a litter box?
He looks totally better. *sighs in relief* It’s like he has a tiny amount to go, and then getting back into his old habits.
I don’t suppose the tilt effects the part of his functions that controls his poo/pee control ability, would it? Like when a human gets incontinent for a while after a medical episode? Maybe he doesn’t know he’s pood and stays in his cecals (that he can’t reach, either.)
Baths feel good to them when they are unclean. They eventually admit this. And they like the attention. Fussing at first is just an act.
So it looks like you’ll start off the new year with the gang back in shape.
Thank you for posting the pix. They are great. *pokes Monkeybun back*
Glad Chuck is better! I think Noot is just darling too.

I don’t think it would-though it seems that way!! He grooms and humps and cleans himself and Noot-since things have improved his movement is normal so I don’t know why he isn’t using the litter box. When I clean and dump the crib= I put him in the litter box and he doesn’t go in it-whereas before he would always potty in the potty? Don’t know-hopefully -with it being a small space he’ll improve.
I’m considering though not made up on-giving them back a part of the room rather then being in the pen. Still need to rebuild Ruperts’ window seat-he hates me right now ![]()
YAY for Chuck’s recovery!!!!
I haven’t been on too much lately and I am SO happy Chuck is feeling better ^_^ and Noot is such a great companion for him, they’re so beautiful together!!![]()
Oh he looks SOOOO much better! Thanks to your (and Noot’s) patient care.
yeah Chuck is getting better. Great job all.
Hey K&K, just poking my head in here to see if there’s anything new on Chuck & Noot? Did you decide to go ahead and give them their own separate part of the room? Is there any further improvement in Chuck’s condition? Is Noot behaving himself?
I hope all’s well down there!
We’re thinkin’ of ya’! (((((((((((hugs))))))))))))
Thanks guys
Still in the crib-for now that’s easiest for me for cleaning-and they have lots of room. Chuck and Noot used the litter box right in front of me this morning-and the towel was quite dry-perhaps this can be training time too
Course Rupert and Kahlua are peeing and pooping all around the crib-yeah me for bad bunnies
No further improvement-but tbh I think this might be as good as it gets. It’s quite a small tilt and he is fine moving around yet again. In fact after an eye cleaning a few nights ago (this is when he’s particularly mad at mom) he humped Noot when I put him back-this says to me-he’s feeling quite randy-errrr I mean dandy ![]()
Glad the update is a positive one. Here’s hoping that Chuck has a great, healthy year ahead!

I can always tell when Pepper is feeling better – she starts getting into trouble again. I have no idea how she got those crackers off the bookshelve but she had herself quite a little party in the hallway early this morning…
Many years ago, there was a bunny at SaveABunny that had permanent severe head-tilt (one eye up to the sky and the other faced down to the ground), but his brain got used to it and he didn’t even notice it anymore. He moved around and adapted very well. (and he had a buddy that loved him too) Two years later he was adopted, and the new owner gave daily neck massages and there was even further improvement (less tilt), and this was after two years!
So I’m glad to hear Chuck is doing better and getting use to his new way of life. A certainly good life with you and Noot!
Because I find ANYTHING to do with Chuck and Noot so inspiring, I posted a summary of their recent trials on the LJ BunnyOwners community.

Everyone was very touched and is sending their best wishes for recovery and a long life together for both of them
