I don’t remember where I read it, but I think I remember seeing something about evergreens being bad for bunnies. Does this mean that Christmas trees are bad for bunnies? I need to make a decision about gettng a real or fake tree and I suppose that’s really going to be up to Freya this year. (Don’t worry, I’m not a freak. There is NO WAY I’d ever put a tree up in my house before Black Friday.)

BTW… I don’t like pine trees, I like fir trees, the smell is much better and I think they are far prettier. Maybe a spruce, but never a pine.

Pine is a wood that bunnies can have but there are lots of hazards-including the standing water you use at the base of the tree, tinsel, lights, etc.

That’s great thanks. I didn’t notice that page before. Since we only have one huge room to decorate I wasn’t going to put a tree in the part of the room Freya roams in. I was mostly worried about tracking needles and such on my shoes or socks. Of course it’s always possible that the little snot will find a way to get to the tree, so if it’s not deadly I’ll be happy. Looks like I should be good to go ahead and get a fir tree this year. Good thing I’m not the one who has to carry it, I just need to pick it out.

I always go with a plastic tree. I worry about the needles getting all over the house and the bunnies snacking on them.

We use a plastic tree because my dad is too lazy to go out and get a real one!

Ever since I was little, Mom had to have a real tree every year. I’m gonna keep up the tradition cuz I looove how the house smells cuz of it. I’ll just be blocking off the area its in so Monkey can’t get at it, and vacuuming up every stray needle before I let her out to play when we bring it in.
