CCCcccccold ? anyone?

Oooof.  I love cold weather.    Gona be 28 tonite.    I got my granny nightie and some pants on.  I have 2 shirts on every day and pants.  Then at nite my granny gown. 

However I am getting a little tired of being cold.  My knee my back and so on.    But I love the cold.    WEll unitl I take a shower that is.   The afternoon is best for the bedroom/bathroom part of the house get warm with the sun.  

But early this morning.   Gasp.  I turned that heatlamp on right quick.  

The buns doing ok with it.   Cotton let out some leaps and spins last nite.  They have several towels and blankies on their cages at nite.  I dont’ run the heater at nite but off n on til I go to bed take the chill out.

I dont’ know about tonite tho.   I might let it run   oh when I do my nose dries up and I get nose bleeds so I don’t think I will let it run all nite.

Fouad got a heater thingy you plug in and we got an electric blanket first time in 3 years I have used it.   lol.

Anyone else enjoying some cold?

It is cold in Denver! 7F right now!
But, I love cold weather so I don’t mind. We have flannel sheets and a down comforter on the bed – it is so snuggly warm!!!
I just bundle up during the day. That whole layers thing – so true!

Kay & Winston are much more active during the cold weather. They have plenty of fleece blankets to snuggle on. But, they ignore them. Kay has actually been laying on the tile a bunch lately – silly girl, likes the cold!

oh yeah deffinatly cold! (SHIVERS)… i live in canada and its -17 c right at this very moment if not colder!!!!!!!!!!!! BRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!! i used to like the cold weather but now…… i prefer to hybernate!! and did a meantion BRRRRRR!!!!! BRRRRRRRRRR!!!! BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Same here, bt. In Texas we usually gripe because it will stay over 100 degrees for weeks on end. Tonight it’s supposed to be 15 degrees, 29 high tomorrow and down to15 again for the next few days. That’s dang cold for this area too.

I have an older (1920’s) house that can get quite drafty so I’ve been working on the bunny room. The wood stove I installed in the front of the house keeps it toasty in that area but it doesn’t filter much all the way back there so I got one of those electric oil-filled heaters (looks like a radiator) to go in their room. I made old fashioned ‘window quilts’ to help with the cold drafts and everyone has towels and fleece blankies in their boxes. I lucked into some large pieces of fleece that I can wrap around parts of the condo to give everyone a cozy corner at night.

Because Hershey no longer has a partner to snuggle I put the heater next to her condo, with a half panel that overhangs and directs some of the heat directly into her lower level. I made a flannel cover for the tent and change out her bedding every day (incontinent) and she seems to be pretty cozy. If it gets too warm she can go to the other side or up on top but I see her all stretched out in the tent most of the time..you can se the top of the heater to the right of her tent there.

We’ve got northerly winds at the moment so it’s down to 25F (-4C) in Southern England tonight. We’ve had some awesome snow the last couple of days and a colleague and I tried driving to London on business yesterday. We got 30 miles up the road and had to turn round. It took us 6 hours to get back! People abandoned their cars overnight; lorries ended up in ditches. It was carnage! We’re just not geared up for it!

Still, I’m like you guys and I really like the cold weather. Feels like a “proper” winter.

Now THAT is a clever thing to do with a willow tent! ^_^ Of course, it wouldn’t do for my three…it would look like Swiss cheese by the time I turned back around. lol….
We’ve been blessed by a little warmer weather this week. It was supposed to snow last night, but if it did, I can’t tell. We’ll be headed back downward in temps here by week’s end though…so maybe everyone down there will warm up a bit again.

I was listening with sadness at the prospect that the cold in the south is going to ruin a strawberry crop this year. *sniffle* I love strawberries! ;_;
