  I got Bear on Monday and he is still adjusting to his new habitat. I noticed that one of his eyes looks a little weird and I’m concerned. He has a vet appointment for next week. He is 2 years old and had to get a wellness check before I can have him neutered. Does this look like a cataract or something else?

  There is a picture attached but I’ll try again. He also does not seem as active as I would expect him to be. He mostly just stays still and doesnt really do much besides eat, groom, and poop. He was hopping around when I first brought him home and now he just doesnt want to

  That eye is worrisome.
  
  This doesn’t look typical of a cataract. That’s usually just the pupil looking opaque.
  
  Have you got a good knowledgeable rabbit vet?

  Normally his eye just looks blackish/bluish and kind of iridescent. I only see the white sometimes. His other eye looks normal. I’m worried he might be blind in the weird eye

  I have not met the vet yet but I have an appointment for next friday. She specializes in small animals though. Bear is my first pet rabbit

  Is it possible to have him seen sooner? I’m just concerned if it’s become painful since you’ve seen a change in his behaviour.

  It isn’t new. The woman I got him from sent me pictures (on the 10th) before I got him and I did notice that his eye looked weird in the photos so I knew something might be up. I’m not sure how long it has been like that though
