I took Peaty to the vet because she was drooling really bad I figured it was the points in her mouth that was causing her to do so. The Vet said that she didn’t like the mass under her chin she told me it was an abscess over the rabbits get them all the time (Peaty is 12 years old) she wanted to clear the infection out she wanted to remove two of her teeth because she thought that that was also getting in her way she took x-rays and bloodwork of Peaty she then showed it to me and & told me that the x-rays showed her that four of her teeth actually had to come out her jaw line was eroded and if I did not take care of the abscess right then and there it will go behind her eye and tothe rest of her bones as well. Peaty has the operation and the doctor tells me that it is a cancerous tumor is she cannot remove the tumor because a vein is going through it she took some of the tumor out for testing and wanted more money from me to send the sample to pathology. It’s now a week later and Petey goes to get her stitches removed Peaty teeth at the bottom are uneven and her top teeth are growing really long it is starting to look like she has “tusks” teeth” another vet (at the same hospital) told me that the tumor is pressing against her jaw line and he cannot just take away her jaw line because rabbits cannot function without a jawline. My question for you all is has anyone been through this and what should I do Peaty does not seem as though she wants to laydown and die she is still the curious little bunny that she has always been I know that she is suffering but she doesn’t show signs of giving up I was thinking of going to another Vet to see if she should have her front teeth removed because the mass is pressing against it but a part of me is like that’s not right because she would be a bunny anymore I don’t know what to do ??? I did this on my phone please excuse my mistakes.

          Hi Peaty’s mum/dad,

I’m so sorry to hear about Peaty. Perhaps you could go to a different vet/hospital to get a second opinion before making your decision? What did the vet say your options are?

Sending love to you and Peaty

Hello and thanks! He wants to see if she loses weight in 2 weeks but still didn’t have an actual answer on how to help her. I am gonna lower her pain meds because my aunt found out that medication can take a toll on her kidneys. Definitely going seek a 2nd opinion but I am still in disbelief. I wish it was just an abscess so she can get back to being her little mean self.
