        Hi everyone!

I have two bunnies, Pudsie and Hugo. They are both neutered boys and live in playpens next to each other in the dining room which is the bunny room now. Pudsie is a 1 year old grey/brown lionhead and lop mix. Hugo is a Netherland Dwarf and 6 months old. I was intending to bond them -we are currently in the process of prebonding- but I just got concerned because Pudsie is so much bigger than Hugo! I just weighed them, Pudsie is 2555 gramms, Hugo is 850 gramm, very tiny. I am very worried what is going to happen if they fight and Pudsie attacks Hugo as he is so much bigger than him, but again, Hugo is very feisty himself, so I am just not sure.

I would just watch them closely when you start the bonding process. It’s totally possible for a big bun and a little bun to bond, i’ve read of a Netherland Dwarf and Flemish Giant bond a couple times.

Yep, no worries about size differences! Those little dwarfs can be pretty scrappy, so I’d be more worried about your bigger bunny!

2555g = 2.5kg, which doesn’t sound too big actually It should be fine!

While of course there cam be a greater risk of injury due to size difference, it is perfectly possible to bond bunnies of very different sizes. Just keep a close eye to ensure there’s no fighting and it will be fine ?

Thank you guys! I am relieved now ?? When do I know they are ready to start the actual bonding? My dwarf bun is really feisty and territorial so I am really unsure.

Hi. We’ve had Puddie since September 2017 and Hugo since January 2018. Hugo was neutered in March and they live next to each other since April.
