Not a bun owner yet but once I am I want to adopt a bonded pair of bunnies. My parents are a little iffy about that because of the cost and the fact I never had a bun before yet. I go to school and stuff and I leave at 7am and come back 4pm every normal weekday. If my parents say no to a bonded pair of bunnies, would just one bun be okay by themselves for that amount of time?  I understand I may have to extra extra extra bun proof my room and stuff to make sure the bun doesn’t get into anything and all that stuff but yea. Thanks!

Buns are typically asleep between 9am and 6pm. So you don’t need to worry about leaving them alone. So if you put them in an XL dog cage they should be fine.

I agree with Harley&Thumper. The hours you’re gone are the hours when buns normally just lounge and nap.

You’re going to get home and ask your rabbit how his/her day has been going, and they’ll typically respond with “Great. I slept.”

I typically leave home for work well before 5 and don’t get back till around 5:30 pm. My buns Panda and Fernando, who have been well-provisioned in advance with hay, pellets and water, in a huge two-level “condo” cage with hidey boxes and plenty of cardboard pieces and willow sticks to chew, always spend most of the daylight hours snoozing (actually, they’ve been dozing in their litterbox just now, though Panda woke up a moment ago and is now eating the evening salad).
