I am a brand new bunny owner. I had only had Buttercup for a month. I did a lot of research before I adopted him to make sure I could properly care for him. Well I accidentally poisoned him. There was a good chance the toxin would go to his nervous system and he would die due to neurological issues. After being in and out of the emergency vet for a few days it was clear that he was not going to make it. I syringe fed him and gave him water every hour the one day he was home. I tried to nurse him back to health. I feel so guilty that he is gone and that he is gone so soon. He was only a year old. In the short month we had him, we all fell in love with him. He was the sweetest and goofiest bunny. I am heartbroken that he is gone and I am to blame. He had a rough few last days of his life but I tried to give him as much love as possible.

I’m very sorry for your loss. 🙁

Mistakes and accidents happen to all of us, and all we can really do is learn from them and try to do better in the future. It sounds like he was very loved and you did everything you could to save him.
