I wasn’t sure where to put this, but I thought the lounge would be best?

This isn’t a HUGE deal, but I felt the need to share. It was pretty scary and I’m still a bit nervous. Tonight was the first time I have had to take Bunny to the emergency room. Earlier tonight I noticed she wasn’t really opening her right eye, but it didn’t seem red or bad so I figured not to worry yet and just pay attention. about 30 mins later it was completely shut, red on the edges, teary (clear) and she kept her right ear pinned. She kept trying to clean her eye and just seemed miserable. So, I called the vet’s and asked if I should bring her in, they said yes right away. She started to seem better as we were getting ready to go, and the boyfriend almost changed my mind, but it is good that I followed my gut and went.

Once we got there she kept trying to keep the eye open (she was nervous etc) but with the drops and light the vet found an ulcer in the eye. She must have hit it at some point and I did not see. I feel so bad They gave me antibiotic drops and metacam. Poor thing was clinging to me, the boyfriend, and her husband (horsey) the whole time, so I knew she was definitely not okay before the vet even checked.

        And of course, some photos:

        Her with horsey snuggling:

Her getting kisses from the boyfriend:

Giving me head butts: (right after this she stood on her hind legs to give me kisses, it was the cutest thing)

        and the saddest little photo:

She spent some time in a little ball under the bed when we first got home, but right now she is eating and hopping around fine. I will let everyone know if something happens. I am so glad I followed my gut and went.

I’m glad she’s okay. Those emergency trips really are scary. She’s so cute in all those photos.

Is it bad that I love how clingy and lovey they become at the vet?

I’m relieved that she is being seen by a vet!

I too had an emergency scare with Chacha bun 3 weeks ago. I followed my gut and she ended up having an ear infection. She just was not acting her normal self and looked annoyed from scratching her ear and shaking her head. She is now doing well and is back to good health.

I’m glad you got her in right away. Eye injuries can be really serious if left untreated. ((((Healthy Eye Vibes))))

Those pics are so adorable. So cute with the horse! You realize that posting all these pics is just tempting me to bunny nap her all the more. She’s so beautiful and reminds me so much of my little Stormy.

No bun napping, LPT! hehe, thank you though. She is the sweetest thing and was obviously being the biggest baby the whole visit (who wouldn’t!). I am really glad we got her in there.

FF, I know what you mean about that — all my buns get SOOO CLINGY at the vets and it makes my heart melt and me feel like the best bunny momma alive because they cling to me so much. Tanger didnt nearly as much but Fleury was basically in my lap and not moving and wanted nothing but pets the whole time!

I’m glad you decided to take her to the vet! I’m sure she hated every second but it was the best decision for her health!

Those pictures with her horsey are absolutely ADORABLE! I may have to beat LPT to bunnaping her. I have three little hooligans who will gladly help.

I remember the only time we’ve had an emergency vet visit so far was our first one, Fleury. He got his foot caught in his cage and they made us stay in the waiting room while they took him back. I was in a total panic. And started crying. LOL. Turned out it was nothing more than a bruise. LOL. Needed nothing and was hopping around fine within a few days!

What a little darling with her horsey friend!
                    Glad to hear she’s alright.

Oh look how snuggly she is.  I just love her.  Her eye will be ok thanks to you following your gut.    Sometimes we just know something isn’t right.  And her eye definitely wasn’t right so you took her.

Cotton  gets clingy at the vets too.  I cannot put him down without him leaping back into my arms. I make sure he has a harness on when we go now.  Once he overshot my shoulder and did a face plant in the door.  I felt horrible.  That will not happen again.

Sometimes they examined his lip while I was holding him.  Other times he had a helper wrap him in a towel n hold him on the table.

No matter where I go with him if I put him down he is right back into my arms.  Thats where he wants to stay.  He went shopping at the department store with me the other day. They like seeing him.   I like having him help me make decisions lol.
