Hi everyone,
We got Daisy (about 3 years old, spayed, rex) a little over 2 weeks ago and things are mostly great! One concern we have is that she won’t eat any pellets. She does eat hay and some leafy greens, though doesn’t finish a bowl (maybe just picky state of lettuce, heat wave meant the market only had not the crispest bunches). The only stuff she seems to love to eat is towels (we lined her pen with this but took it away when we noticed holes), cardboard, her paper litter (carefresh), her wooden toys, and her plastic litter box. We wouldn’t be very worried if she was just tearing stuff apart, but since there is no debris, we know she’s eating it. We have tried oxbow pellets and today I bought a bag of the Kay-tee pellets which seemed like the second best choice at the store. Still no interest. She’s still pooping so I don’t think there’s a blockage, and she seems happy (currently flopped beside me).
Should we try some less healthy pellets to get her to eat and try subbing in the healthy stuff bit by bit? Is it possible she gets full on the cardboard and wood?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!
