› FORUM › THE LOUNGE › Bunny Questionnaire!
I got this idea from the “Creative Questionnaire” topic.
Just fill this out and post it here.
1. How many bunnies do you have? 2.
2. What are their names? Mr. Bunny and Ms. Rabbit.
3. How old are they? What breed(s) are they? Mr. Bunny is about 3 years old. I’m not sure of his breed. Ms. Rabbit is around 1 year old. She’s a Mini Rex/dwarf mix.
4. How and when did you adopt them? I adopted Mr. Bunny on November 20th, 2008 and Ms. Rabbit on September 22nd, 2010. For both bunnies, I just walked into a Petsmart, fell in love, and left with a new bunny.
5. What part of the house is their cage in? Are they allowed free-run? They’re currently living in a finished basement hallway. They have 24/7 free run.
6. What’s their favorite food? What do you feed them? Both bunnies love wheat pasta, fresh veggies, pineapple and raisins. They share 1/3 cup pellets, 2 1/4 cups fresh veggies, and unlimited timothy hay every day.
7. Are they destructive? Mr. Bunny isn’t destructive at all. Ms. Rabbit is incredibly destructive and loves tearing up the walls.
8. What is their favorite toy? They both love any type of willow.
9. What litter do you use? Wood stove pellets.
10. Has your rabbit ever licked you? Mr. Bunny licks me every chance he gets. Ms. Rabbit will occasionally lick my hair or pants, but she refuses to lick my bare skin.
11. Have you ever dealt with rabbit health problems? Which ones? I’ve dealt with suspected Sebacious Adenitis, sore hocks, broken nails, severe gas, and a strange suspected salivary gland infection that required Penicillin injections.
12. How often do you clean the litterbox(es)? Every 3-4 days.
13. Have you ever bought something online for the bunnies? How much did you spend? I bought from BB once. I think I spent about $30.
14. Have you ever educated someone else about rabbit care in real life? Yes, actually. I told a couple of rabbit owners about proper rabbit diets and health problems, and I taught a few potential rabbit owners about rabbit care in general.
15. Have you ever gone to a real-life rabbit-themed event? Did you take your bunny(s)? Yes. I’ve been to the CO-HRS Spring Fling twice. I brought Mr. Bunny to the event last June.
16. What’s the most valuable thing that your bunny has ever destroyed? Huge amounts of the walls and carpet.
17. Have you ever gone to the store after 9 PM or on a holiday to get something for your bunny? Yup!
18. Do you have any friends with bunnies? Not any close friends, but there’s a few people in the church I go to who have (or used to have) rabbits.
19. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “easier than a plant” and 10 being “incredibly high-maintennence”, how easy do you think it is to take care of a bunny? Maybe about a 4 or 5.
20. Do you have any non-lagomorph pets? Not the last time I checked! ![]()
Great idea!
1. How many bunnies do you have? Two.
2. What are their names? Remy and Momo
3. How old are they? What breed(s) are they? Remy is a two-year old mini Rex, and Momo is a 1 and 1/2-year old Rex
4. How and when did you adopt them? I found Mr. Remy in a pet store in November. 2008, and it was love at first sight! Momo was bred as a mini rex, but we’re absolutely positive she’s a regular Rex because she’s so big! We took her home September, 2009.
5. What part of the house is their cage in? Are they allowed free-run? They have free run of the living room 24/7, and their “cage” is really more like a giant litter box/hay bin. It doesn’t even have a top section.
6. What’s their favorite food? What do you feed them? Every morning they share one cup of Oxbow pellets and every night they get an assortment of four types of vegetables, usually bok choy, cilantro, celero, and one small carrot to share. They also get 2-4 papaya pellets a day, which they absolutely love. Three or four times a week they get a few raisins each. They LOVE them!
7. Are they destructive? Oh good gracious yes…
8. What is their favorite toy? They love cardboard of all types – boxes, toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, packing sections… They also love willow balls, paper, and Mama’s fingers.
9. What litter do you use? Yesterday’s News
10. Has your rabbit ever licked you? Momo licks me all day long – face, fingers, hair, nose, you name it. Remy licks me occasionally, usually when I’m giving him a butt scratch.
11. Have you ever dealt with rabbit health problems? Which ones? Remy came home with the snuffles and ring worm. ACK. The snuffles went away immediately with medicine, but the ring worm persisted, even with medicine, for over a month. He had a bald spot on his forehead the entire time. Momo has had two gas-related episodes that cleared up with force-feeding and attention.
12. How often do you clean the litterbox(es)? Every 3-4 days
13. Have you ever bought something online for the bunnies? How much did you spend? I’ve bought all kinds of things online – litter, hay, pellets, oxbow timothy bungalow, play centers, willow balls… they all cost about as much they do at Petsmart.
14. Have you ever educated someone else about rabbit care in real life? Yes! I’ve had a few people come to me asking whether or not rabbits were for them, and I’ve given them probably way more information than they wanted to know.
15. Have you ever gone to a real-life rabbit-themed event? Did you take your bunny(s)? Not really an event, so much as helping out the CO House Rabbit Society now and then
16. What’s the most valuable thing that your bunny has ever destroyed? Photo albums that I stupidly left within reach. Bah!
17. Have you ever gone to the store after 9 PM or on a holiday to get something for your bunny? Of course.
18. Do you have any friends with bunnies? Sagecat is simply marvelous : )
19. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “easier than a plant” and 10 being “incredibly high-maintennence”, how easy do you think it is to take care of a bunny? Probably a 4… no need to walk them outside!

6. What’s their favorite food? What do you feed them? Pacey loves almost anything his favorite would be cilantro or bok choy. Walter is picky but loves mint and clover. I feed 1/8 of a cup or less of pellets, unlimited hay, and I don’t really measure the veggies but they probably get more than they should lol.
7. Are they destructive? Pacey not really he likes cords. Walter is super destructive if he can chew or claw it he will.

20. Do you have any non-lagomorph pets? Do we really want to go there? lol…. Yes many all kinds of shapes, sizes and species.
Sonn, do you work for a shelter?
I volunteer at one
1. How many bunnies do you have? 2
2. What are their names? Otto and Hannah
3. How old are they? What breed(s) are they? Otto will be 2 in Feburary and is a holland lop. Hannah will be 4 in February and is a mini lop.
4. How and when did you adopt them? I got Otto from a breeder when he was 8 weeks old in April of 2008. I found Hannah on Craigslist and picked her up from Harlem in April of 2009.
5. What part of the house is their cage in? Are they allowed free-run? They have a pen area in the dining room and get free run when we’re home. Though we don’t put up barriers, they stay in just the dining room and living room – neither goes in the kitchen or near the stairs (we’re in trouble when Hannah discovers the carpeted stairs!)
6. What’s their favorite food? What do you feed them? Both are in love with parsley and eat it before anything else. Otherwise they split a little less than 1/2c pellets, tons of veggies, and timmy hay every day.
7. Are they destructive? Otto never destroys anything except some cardboard once in a while. Hannah mostly sticks with approved toys, but has been known to nibble the corners of the wall and coffee table occasionally. Both will go after books, but in their defense they don’t know books aren’t bunny toys.
8. What is their favorite toy? Cardboard or paper
9. What litter do you use? Wood stove pellets.
10. Has your rabbit ever licked you? Otto will kiss on command (any time for DH, only for treats for me). Hannah has never licked us.
11. Have you ever dealt with rabbit health problems? Which ones? My two have been very healthy, thank goodness. Hannah has molar spurs when we first got her, but she hasn’t had a repeat.
12. How often do you clean the litterbox(es)? Probably every 6 days. I’m lazy! Though we give them more litterboxes just so I don’t have to clean them so often.
13. Have you ever bought something online for the bunnies? How much did you spend? I buy them new Mazes and a few other things from BB – the maze is their favorite toy of all time. I’ve probably spent almost $100 at once, but then I buy a lot so I only have to pay once for shipping.
14. Have you ever educated someone else about rabbit care in real life? Yep, I’ve had friends consider getting a rabbit and did an outreach event for the shelter once.
15. Have you ever gone to a real-life rabbit-themed event? Did you take your bunny(s)? I went to an outreach event for the shelter where I brought my bunnies and hung out in a store window for a few hours (the store was doing wine tasting to benefit the shelter).
16. What’s the most valuable thing that your bunny has ever destroyed? Hannah nibbled the corners of the wall going from the living room to dining room, but not too terrible. They’ve put some nibble marks in books and a video game case, but then I blame us for leaving those things where they can get to them. I’d say destroying a number of maze havens is expensive though! Gotta keep buying more.
17. Have you ever gone to the store after 9 PM or on a holiday to get something for your bunny? I don’t think so – we’re pretty good at planning our grocery shopping so we don’t need to go late at night.
18. Do you have any friends with bunnies? Not really. One guy in my department has an outdoor bunny for his kids (and he gets a lot of love) but that’s about it.
19. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “easier than a plant” and 10 being “incredibly high-maintennence”, how easy do you think it is to take care of a bunny? 4. My friends who have dogs have watched Otto and think he’s the easiest pet in the world – next to dogs (especially their dogs
) I think that’s true.
20. Do you have any non-lagomorph pets? Nope – when we buy a house we’ll be getting a dog though.
1. How many bunnies do you have? 2
2. What are their names? Mocha and Lulu
3. How old are they? What breed(s) are they? Mocha is 1 years old and is a Holland lop, Lulu is 1 years old and is a dutch mix.
4. How and when did you adopt them? I went to my friends house and there bunny had had baby’s and they let every one hold them and pet them and when I asked my mom if i could have one she said “maybe” and you guys know what happens next.
My sisters friend had two bunny’s and one got attacked by a fox, they didn’t want the one that other bunny any more because she didn’t like to be picked up. So they let me have her.
5. What part of the house is their cage in? Are they allowed free-run? there condo is in my room, they are not free range but I am hoping for them to be free range in my room if there litter habits improve.
6. What’s their favorite food? What do you feed them? I feed them unlimited timothy hay, 2 or more cups of veggies a day each, and 1/4 cup of oxbow timothy pellets a day each. there favorite food is probably parsley and kale.

9. What litter do you use? horse stall bedding.

11. Have you ever dealt with rabbit health problems? Which ones? they haven’t had any health problems but mocha got a bad cut and ripped his stitches open. but that’s it.
12. How often do you clean the litterbox(es)? it depends sometimes every week and sometimes every few days.
13. Have you ever bought something online for the bunnies? How much did you spend? yes I have twice, once I just got two willow toys from the BB store so it was only a few bucks, but last time I got them something I spent $60 on a brush, litter box screen and maze haven.
14. Have you ever educated someone else about rabbit care in real life? Yes one of my friends came over and I talked to her. but she wasn’t for sure getting a rabbit.
15. Have you ever gone to a real-life rabbit-themed event? Did you take your bunny(s)? I have not but I would LOVE to go to one sometime and bring my buns!
16. What’s the most valuable thing that your bunny has ever destroyed? they don’t destroyed much at all.
17. Have you ever gone to the store after 9 PM or on a holiday to get something for your bunny? I don’t think so because the place were i get there stuff closes at 6 pm.
18. Do you have any friends with bunnies? yes, but they keep her outside and don’t pay any attention to her.
19. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “easier than a plant” and 10 being “incredibly high-maintennence”, how easy do you think it is to take care of a bunny? 5.

2. What are their names? Frankie!
3. How old are they? What breed(s) are they? Frankie turned 4 in September and is a harlequin mutt :]
4. How and when did you adopt them? I got him in October 2006, kind of on a whim. I saw him in a pet store and fell in love instantly. He ended up being a present from my boyfriend at the time for our first 6 months together. I still see him occasionally and Frankie still melts for his head rubs, haha.
5. What part of the house is their cage in? Are they allowed free-run? He has a cage in my bedroom, but he only goes in there for hay, water, and the litterbox. He is completely free-roaming. I guess my bedroom would be more of his “cage” since he stays in there with the door closed with me overnight,
6. What’s their favorite food? What do you feed them? His favorite food is anything edible, or that seems like it could be edible. Sigh. Otherwise, his diet consists of greens 2x a day, unlimited hay, and a quarter cup of pellets at bedtime. And intermittent treats, of course.
7. Are they destructive? Well, duh. He’s a rabbit. He has definitely calmed down A LOT with the destructive behaviors, though. He doesn’t try to pull up carpet anymore or anything like that, thank God.
8. What is their favorite toy? He’s not big on toys unless there is something edible inside. He likes to push plastic coat hangers around on my floor though, which is odd.
9. What litter do you use? Wood stove pellets.
10. Has your rabbit ever licked you? He will lick my hand sometimes when I pause during headrubs. And he likes to lick people’s pants while they’re on them. Haha. And he’ll lick anyone if they have food crumbs/scent on them.
11. Have you ever dealt with rabbit health problems? Which ones? EC. He started having balance issues and had a month-long dropper medicine treatment for it. Luckily, the symptoms have not come back.

14. Have you ever educated someone else about rabbit care in real life? Yes. A few people have come to me for advice, and I’ll give pointers to people if I find out they’ve become bunny owners. And around Easter I try to spread the word (at least on Craigslist) about the Make Mine Chocolate campaign.
15. Have you ever gone to a real-life rabbit-themed event? Did you take your bunny(s)? Yes, the San Diego House Rabbit Society’s Bunnyfest. I’ve been twice. This year it was too far away. I have not taken Frankie. Don’t want to make him do half-hour+ car rides then have to tote him around outside in the summer heat.
16. What’s the most valuable thing that your bunny has ever destroyed? The carpeting in my parents’ house. I need to get a full-time job so I can finance the replacement.
17. Have you ever gone to the store after 9 PM or on a holiday to get something for your bunny? Of course!
18. Do you have any friends with bunnies? Yes. Frankie makes people fall in love, hahaha. A handful of friends have ended up adopting bunnies because of him.
19. On a scale of 1-10, with 1 being “easier than a plant” and 10 being “incredibly high-maintennence”, how easy do you think it is to take care of a bunny? It depends on the rabbit and it’s mood. I’d say between 5-9 a lot of the time!
20. Do you have any non-lagomorph pets? Yes. A pitbull named Hexx, a cockatiel named Lady Wilkenshire (“Bird”), and a guinea pig named Bullit.
