Hi all!
It’s everyone’s favorite topic: bunny poo! I’ve searched the forums to get an answer for my specific question and have found a variety of answers, so thought I’d ask about it regarding my bunny’s case specifically. My bun Merlin is about 10 weeks old, and we recently switched her pellets from oxbow young rabbit to selective junior brand. Partially because we can’t find oxbow anywhere anymore, and after some research found the junior brand to be healthier for her. We did the change about two weeks ago, and as a result of being on the junior brand 100%(we transitioned her slowly), her pee has turned orange (a result of spinach being one of the top ingredients I think), but it’s also made her poo go from the “normal” lighter brown color to a very dark brown, basically black. They have stayed that color, and now I’m worried it may be a sign her gut is unhealthy. From what I’ve read it could be an indication she is getting too much protein, but as a baby bunny I have to give her unlimited pellets.
Do you guys think she is alright? Are the junior pellets too rich for her?
Thanks!
