Hi,
One of my bunnies, Cecil, isn’t drinking his water! He’s also the bunny who usually drinks way more than my other bunnies so he has the biggest water bowl. We’ve had two visiting bunnies since Sunday evening which is when he stopped drinking his water. I took him to the vet Tuesday evening and from what she could tell, he was healthy and not dehydrated at that time. His teeth and ears looked okay, though she can only see so far back in the teeth without sedation. He has been laying in a different spot than he usually does, and looks a bit hunched up and uncomfortable. He’s still eating his veggies but his hay eating has slowed down a lot and he’s starting to not eat his pellets…
He was also thumping more often than he usually does.
He just doesn’t seem right. And I tried giving him some watermelon balls but he didn’t eat those. I made sure his veggies were wet. I just bought him a water bottle to see if he’d like to drink out of something new, and I added some apple juice to it to make it more enticing. I’m trying to avoid syringe feeding him water because I’m scared of doing it the wrong way and having him choke on it. The visitng bunnies will leave tomorrow morning for at least a few days to see if he feels any better with them gone.
Has anybody heard of a Bunny that stops drinking water and eating pellets because of stress? Or know other causes?
Please help!
Thanks
