My 6 month hold Holland Lop Ciri was just spayed friday 3-16 and since then, has been back to the vet for overnight stays twice because I was worried that she wasn’t drinking enough water at all. Before being spayed, she would drink about 1 1/2 to 2 bowls of water a day and now it seems like she will barely touch it. She will go over and sniff her bowl, then hop away. At her second stay at the vet, she got a high fever and was placed on anti inflammatories and antibiotics, as well as received subcutaneous fluids to keep her hydrated. The vet also said that she drank water out of a bottle by herself. But, like I said, she seems to not want anything to do with water while she is home, from her bowl or a bottle! Besides this, she seems to be in good spirits and has a pretty good appetite, though not quite the appetite she had before surgery. Can anyone offer any advice? Thank you!

That seems odd. Have you tried buying some bottled water and seeing if that helps? It might give a clue as to whether your water supply has recently changed. Although, if a bun were thirsty enough I would think they’d drink whatever.

Does she eat greens? If so, maybe she’s getting enough hydration from those at the moment?
