I have Cid, and Alex.
I named Cid, videogame related name.
I didn’t have a name picked out until he was finally old enough for me to take home.

Alex I’ve had for about 40 hours, she was adopted Monday. I rarely call her Alex though, she’s such a looker I tend to call her “Gorgeous”, “Beauty”, or ever “Aly: Queen of Rabbits”. She’s so stunning and has a calm and sophisticated demeanor that she rely seems royal. :3

I prefer human names so my buns are Otto and Hannah, and my dog is Watson (not a first name, but still a human name).

When I was younger, I named everything Susie (multiple cats and a male hamster), a dog named Frank, Steve Spazz and Mellow (rats), Sugar and Luigi (ferrets), Osbourne the hedgehog, Chumlee and Cookie the guinea pigs, and Psy a sugar glider. Now I have Bun (original name was Hotmess), my middle sister has a rabbit named Stephano (originally Kai), and my baby sister has a male betta she named Girl. Haha.

**NOTE: I did not have all these at the same time. Haha

Horse: Winnie, named her that because as a baby she was always doing this super high-pitched whinney right in my ear

There’s a few I missed from the first 30 yrs of my life but as we always had large numbers of pets and none of them were ever really mine as was frequently pointed out by my sisters and mother I have trouble remembering. Until Frodo who I adopted in Melbourne after I left the army I was not allowed to call any of the previous animals mine or bring home a pet of my own where as my sisters and mother could have any animal they pleased. Oh Kelly, Oberon and Napoleon were mine but my Mother gave away Kelly and Oberon because my sisters brought home other animals.

Non bun names.

Past Dogs: Dixie (passed from a stroke ). Major (cancer). Tiffany (ripe age of 19).
Current: Abbie! And Bear! And Tooter Monster/Tooter Love depending on how bad/good he’s being. And no it’s not cause he was gassy! I was a young girl! Lol
Also have an Ava (15 yr old lab I LOVE her! She’s my moms dog but I grew up with her )

Rats: Darius (dar-ee-us) And Chewy

Parrot: Louie

Deer: Bucky and Rambo (named him after the fighter because he was fighting for his life the first few weeks of his life)

Horses: Grandma and Grandpa (they were incredibly old when we rescued them. About 34yrs old) FUNNY STORY, when we would call the horses to come eat we’d yell, “grandma! Grandpa!” And our parrot learned to call them but after Grandpa died Louie would say, “grandma, grandpa! Grandpas dead!” Because we started correcting him when he called the horses after Grandpa passed away.

Oh, this is a cute thread!!

Okay – so my current bunnies:

Fleury, Sidney, Tanger.. all named after Pittsburgh Penguin hockey players! hahaha, Thank the boyfriend! But he’s gotten me to love hockey now so I LOVEEE their names. We just got our fourth bunny, Simba. He came named as he really does look like the lion cub Simba. And it just fit him way too well to ever change so he is the oddball of the bunnies out!

As for past pets:

Horses: Chiquita Twister (called her Chiquita Banana all the time though), Rainbow Twister – both brother and sister. And my third horse, Macs Pacific Rock came with his name but I called him Rocky.

Cats: Princess, Princess II (the mother died giving birth to her babies so I named the baby kitten that was mine after her). The other kittens we kept but were family cats. My other cat was Momo but he also came with his name.

Ferret: Leonard. I thought of his name because he was a total weird thing to me so I felt he needed an equally weird/oddball name. He was adorable though and I loved him a lottttt.

 

And last but not least my dog:  a German Shepard named Bear.
