        Hello!

I feel so bad reading about Binkles’ stasis and Peanut’s hurt ear…

I’m a new bunny-slave, and I would LOVE and appreciate any advise about what kinds of supplies I should have around now BEFORE anything bad happens!  Such as, I keep seeing “simethicone (sp?)?” referenced…what is it, where do you get it, etc?  What else should I have for Miss-Thing-Lizzy-Diva-Bunny just-in-case?

        Much appreciated!

Simethicone is a gas pain relief medication that can be given if your bun is suffering from gas/statis. You can get it at most drugstores, it’s sold for babies. I use Ovol brand.

Thanks, Lisa and LPT! I followed the thread, and did my own digging around @ House Rabbit’s website, and will shortly be embarking on a shopping expedition!

Also, I made an appt. with my local vet, so I’ll find out what they have to say.

Vet question, though… There is one doctor listed under the House Rabbit’s approved vet list at the Long Beach Animal Hospital, but the receptionist, both times I called (2 different receptionists) claims that ALL of their vets (there are 4 or so of them) are familiar with “exotics.” Should I hold out for the one listed (they were quite a pain about me trying to make an appointment with a specific person) by House Rabbit, or give another vet a shot? There website shows birds and buns and lizards and snakes, and not just cats and dogs, so they do seem to have an overall exotic emphasis…
