Last night we went to another South Australian Rabbit Rescue Meeting! It was exciting to get  everyone together in the same room!  JerseyGirl was there, StuBob came in with me too, and so did Darci my daughter, who was so proud to to take a rabbit to share with everyone! Sally is the head of the club so she was there (Shes the lady who saved Stu when she was really sick), and one of my friends Chris who is adopting Squee went as well! I just wanted to share some pics with you all of what we did there  The kids had a great time doing paper crafts, and we learnt a lot about bunny medicine and health

i managed to get some pics of JerseyGirl but wont post without her permission, lol. JERSEY YOU NEED FACEBOOK!!!

This is the lovely artwork that we did. Mine is the orange one, Darci did the pink and yellow one, and the green one is made by JerseyGirl!!!

This is Darci and Sally (the Easter Bunny)

Here is Sally doing consultations of the bunnies to see if they are well enough for their calici shots. Stu wasnt well enough because she has a heart murmur and also raspy breathing caused by her abscess at the moment. Plus she is still a little underweight.

I love the look on her face when shes on the operating table. “Who is this huge bunny and…. WTF?!”

Stu having a cuddle with Chris at the meeting. Chris is going to be Squees new mummy.

Oh, and Darci was stoked to have her hair straightened before the meeting, she looks like a different kid!!! lol

What do you guys do at your bunny meetings? I cant believe we have to wait another month for the next one. Totally the best tuesday night ever.

At the rabbit advocate meetings,w e have different topics every month. From bunny dating to health to stories about your bunnies. Its fun Plus at valentines we have a speed dating for bunnies thing, where people bring in their buns to meet a whole lot of eligible bachelors and bachelorettes. We just had a Bunny fair a couple weeks ago where a couple vets came in, bake sale, silent auction… tons of people showed up for it

What fun! We don’t have anything like that here. There are no rabbit rescues in my area, unfortunately.

Haha, you can just see me waving big scissors at the camera in the pic with the paper crafts.  Kafrn, I didn’t know you actually got any of me
                          Sneaky!

I can’t help but laugh at Sally wearing a stethoscope and bunny ears    (By the way, Sally is a qualified vet nurse and very experienced with rabbits.)

Kafrn forgot to mention that she gave a  talk about her experience with Stu. She did great.   I did giggle at inappropriate moments though because Darci, standing in front of her Mum, was doing dramatic faces at certain points in the story. I don’t think Kafrn was aware of that. Lol

Best part of this meeting?  I got to meet and hold Stu Bob!

LPT, this group is a Companion Rabbit association started by the Rescue people I think.  Have you looked for Companion Rabbit meet-ups at all in your area?

I haven’t actually submitted my membership form for this group yet because…

                          My rabbit ate it!

Our local HRS has a shop a couple Saturdays per month. You can also see adoptables and get a nail trim for a $5 donation. We also have holiday parties and guest speakers. Plus an annual Bunny Fest, which is getting bigger every year!

I’m jealous too! The local rescue/shelter has events every now and then, but they don’t fit very well in my schedule .
