I recently got my bunny off of Craigslist… I got her and her cage basically for free, she just needed a good home. The guy I got her from didn’t know if she was a boy or a girl (I’m assuming girl), her age, her breed, etc. She has been a very happy bunny. I give her a couple hours of play time to run around and she is always very active and happy.

She has developed this white crusty skin around her eyes, kind of on her nose and her toes. Does anyone know what this is??? I can’t afford expensive vet visits… I just wanted to give her a good life

        PLEASE HELP!!

If your rabbit is at least 5 or 6 months old and you aren’t seeing any testicles, then it likely is a female.

Your rabbit’s problem could possibly be ringworm, which is a fungal condition, and has nothing to do with worms. In any case, she should see a vet, for a proper diagnosis and to get treatment. The longer you wait, the more severe the problem could become. Your rabbit will likely have some medical concerns throughout her life, which will require a vet visit. That’s going to be the case with any animal, so you need to be prepared for vet costs. You also need to find a good rabbit savvy vet in your area. Some vets participate in a program called Care Credit. If you pay a minimum balance every month, there is no interest.

It sounds like you might be new to having rabbits. If you click on the BUNNY INFO link at the top of the page, you will find a lot of great information on all the basic aspects of rabbit care.

Considering the placement, I would also say it is possibly ringworm. It’s relatively inexpensive to treat, just the cost of an office visit and some cheap medication.
