my bunny aria has been having very soft clumps of poop, very small poop, and even a bit of diarrhea (poop that is completely liquid). she has been acting fine. i recently got a new bunny george, so this could be stressing her out? also she has only been nibbling hay. the poop smells really bad, especially the diarrhea. should i take her to the vet or will she be ok? side note: i was away for the weekend and my sister was taking care of the animals. i saw very small poop before i left, but didn’t see any runny or wet poop.

She might be having GI problems, especially if you saw real diarrhea you need to take her to a vet asap to be evaluated

Yep, if it’s true diarrhoea she’ll need a vet asap as a bun with diarrhoea can dehydrate and actually that can be fatal. When was her last solid poop?

i’ve been watching her closely for a few hours and she is pooping normally. some are still a bit small but she has been having a lot of normal poops. do you think something could have upset her stomach?

Did she eat anything unusual lately or has there been a change in the house that could have stressed her out?

about 2 weeks ago i got another bunny. i don’t think that would be it. could it be that i was gone for a few days? i think she is okay now but if i knew what made her have runny poop i want to avoid it if possible. also i don’t think my sister was feeding veggies for the day i was gone

Glad she’s pooping solid poops, even if they are a little small! Definitely sounds like something upset her tummy. Any chance she ate something she shouldn’t? (Something that fell on the floor perhaps?) Bunnies are notorious for being quick as lightening when a human drops a food item

ended up taking her to the vet today, they confirmed it was GI stasis caused by stress. they gave her fluids and meds i have to give to her every day, plus a food high in fiber to get her eating again. hopefully she will be back to her old self soon!
