Other than binkies, does anyone else’s rabbits show happiness by doing certain things?
Meki can get pretty goofy, and it’s usually when she’s really happy to see me or seems to know that I’m about to leave back to the other side of the state for a while.
Before I moved for the first time out of my parents house, she was hopping around the living room until she came over to the couch I was on. She never jumps on the couch but this day she put her front paws up on the couch by my legs. I said, “what, Meki?” and she put her feet back on the floor, ran a lap around the living room, and put her paws back up on the couch. I laughed and said “what is it?” and she binkied her head, ran another lap, and came back and put her paws back up on the couch. This happend maybe three or four more times until I picked her up and brought her on the couch where I accidentally fell asleep. I woke up to find her napping in the crook of my arm right where I left her, then she proceeded to dig at my chest, jumped off the couch, and pretended like nothing happened.
Then when I was home for part of this summer, it was late at night and I was sitting cross-legged on the floor next to her open cage. She came up to my lap, put her paws on my chest, and the JUMPED so I had no choice but to catch her as she was up by my shoulder bone! I set her down, she jumped over my left leg, came back around back onto my lap, positioned herself and once again jumped up into my arms. Once again, she did this over and over as if she made some game out of it until it was bed time and I gave her pets and put her back in her cage.
Meki loves doing binkies when she’s happy, but she more noticeably goes into these pattern-y games where if she were a human I could just imagine her giggling like a toddler. She only does this after I’ve been gone for a while and gets over her initial “I’m ignoring you because you aren’t home often enough” mood. Does anyone else’s bunny show signs of happiness like this?
