Post neuter – give Chewie some well deserved rest and just make sure he’s eating, pooping and drinking normally. Some bunnies are quiet afterwards, I remember mine were x

Stock up on favorite vegs, esp fragrant herbs. The most important thing is to get him started on food after he comes home. If he won’t eat, you’ll have to syringe feed him Critical Care or pellet mush (pellets soaked in water), so a feeding syringe is a good thing to have. The absolute majority of young boys won’t need syringe feeding though.

Something to keep him warm post op is also good. Hand warmers or a hot water bottle, wrapped in a fleece blanket. Buns can get cold after GA. He must have enough space so he can move away from the heat source if he doesn’t want it.

Serve water in a bowl, he might not want to work a bottle.

Keep him confined to his cage for 1-2 days, day 2 he can have playtime outside the cage, but no jumping or climbing.

Be prepared for a period of “post-neuter craze” – it doesn’t happen to all buns, but it does to some and it’s perfectly normal. It’s when the bun go on a hormonal roller coaster ride for 1-2 weeks or sometimes longer after having been de-sexed. Hormonally driven behavior can get very much enhanced during this time. That involves poop- and pee-marking, territoriality, cage aggression, mating behavior etc.

I would also recommend making the cage very comfortable, for example, when Storm was neutered, for the cage flooring, I placed memory foam mats down to cover the whole cage floor and put three layers of fleece on it. You don’t have to be that extreme, but maybe a memory foam mat or dog bed wrapped/covered in fleece?

I’m sure everything will go well, and in the end you will have a happy heathier bunny. I have a little girl bun so I got her spayed, when she came back for about a day or so she was very quiet and just wanted to lay down. My friend had a boy bun and she got him neutered and he recovered very quickly, he was back to his normal self much faster then my female because a neuter is less invasive then a spay. Just always make sure your bunny is pooping eating and drinking and not pulling out any stiches. Mine never did and neither did my friends. You might also just want to give your little bun some space keep the environment as peaceful as possible for a little bit until you see him acting more like himself.
