        Hey guys,

So, my rabbit has been getting wet lately (rain) but now she has little “tufts” of fur that are kinda sticking out near the start of her backbone. I will put a picture of my rabbit on when I can but otherwise I have one from the internet.

Just imagine all them tufts on her upper back, although she does have it on her behind as well after getting wet from a butt bath. Related image

Is this something I should be concerned about? Or is it normal?

        Thanks!

It looks like she’s just molting in tufts. Many buns do that. The easiest way to deal with it is to pull out the tufts of hair with your fingers. You can lint roll her after.

It’s also good to get those tufts out if they are ready to release so she doesn’t ingest all of them while grooming. Too much fur ingestion can create a blockage in rabbits and lead to an inability to digest food and excrete feces, leading to a slew of health problems.

Thank you so much! The only real issue is it is coming into the colder months where I live?

Molting doesn’t correspond with season, necessarily. And some bunnies molt year round.
