Hi everyone! My name is Mary and this is actually my very first post. I had browsed numerous times before and have learned so much from all of you. My bunny named Teddy has a strange thing happening to his eye. This happened about 3 months ago and literally went away on its own overnight. I noticed his eye is red/brown again. I will be taking him to the vet but it is Friday night. I just wanted to receive some insight on what this can possibly be. He usually has beautiful blue eyes but his eye is reddish brown. I thank you in advance for the help!!

It appears like a natural brown iris. So this eye was a pale blue before?

Rabbits with dutch like marking such as Teddy can get one blue, one brown eye (heterochromia). Or even have both colours in the same eye ( sectoral heterochromia). It’s not normally associated with a disease. It’s just presence or absence of melanin. Is Teddy a young rabbit?

Are you talking about the iris changing from blue to brown? If he is a young rabbit, then it isn’t unheard of for the eye to change like that. As Jersey said, it is seen in Dutch and Vienna marked rabbits.
