Daisy has developed advanced cataracts. I know that these can be surgically removed however I dont want to put her through surgery as she is five years old now and buns dont do well under anesthesia. Does anyone have buns living with cataracts? Daisy is doing pretty well without her sight sofar! Shes a little less active but still gets around well and is getting more and more confident.
If your buns are living with cataracts, are they in any pain? Daisy doesnt seem to be in pain at all. Still loves her food.
        Thanks!

Sorry to hear your bun is dealing with this.

My Bindi developed eye cloudiness suddenly in both eyes but my vet ruled out cataracts. We never got a true diagnosis but I believe it was E. Cuniculli that caused it. He ended up going completely blind and sadly passed away.

I am not very knowledgeable about cataracts, unfortunately. Has your vet determined these are cataracts? Has a pressure test been done? If there is pressure behind that eye, that can cause pain. I would definitely get a pressure test done to ensure your bunny is not in any pain. Bunnies are great at hiding their pain and will often eat during pain or illness.
