When I did take her outside it was in hiding and when we came home the next day she showed me she doesnt’ like going places by running from me which she never does otherwise lol smart huh?

Enslaved by: Remy (mini Rex) and Momo (mini Rex)
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: Mostly…my husband helps when I’m sleepy
If more than one, are they bonded: Yes, and it was almost instantaneous, which was amazing
Free roam or caged: Free roaming, but they’re caged off from the bedroom
Does bunny go outside: No
Litter trained: Mostly…
What litter do you use: Yesterday’s News
Do they get pellets: Oxbow T
How many meals a day: Two – veggies, and then pellets
Hay- Store
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: They are obsessed with blankets. They lie on them, chew on them, tunnel through them, toss them, and get themselves purposefully stuck underneath them for funzies.
Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: Remy came home with the snuffles AND ringworm when we first got him, but medicine got rid of them both, although the ringworm took forever. Momo is a little chubby…
Are your bunnies low maintenance? When they’re asleep? One of Momo’s nicknames is “Momo the Destructor” I have giant cardboard boxes that I break down and lay behind the couch. Every week or two I have to clean up giant piles of shredded cardboard. Wee!

Enslaved by: Leroy (grey and white mini rex) and Eugénie “Jeannie” (dwarf hotot)
Spayed/Neutered: yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: yes
If more than one, are they bonded: Yep – and I am so thankful that we had an easy bond.
Free roam or caged: caged with play time at night and sometimes in the morning
Does bunny go outside: no
Litter trained: meh. Leroy’s habits used to be impeccable (and I’d like to think that they still are) but since getting Jeannie SOMEONE has been pooping all over their pen, and on the carpet when they’re out for play time. For the most part though, pee stays in the box… unless, like last spring, they have “spring fever”
What litter do you use: Newspaper and a handful or two of wood stove pellets on top
Do they get pellets: A little. Leroy is a bit over weight, so he gets less and only the Timothy pellets. Jeannie gets about a tablespoon of mixed alfalfa and timothy. I buy Oxbow pellets.
How many meals a day: 2 – pellets and veggies
Hay- store bought or farm: store bought – I buy the 25# boxes of Oxbow tim. hay
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: Neither because they make a mess of them. Their pen sits on top of a tarp that feels like a blanket, not like the crinkly plastic of a typical tarp. They also have a cat bed, but I’ve taken it away for now since someone was peeing in it!
Crock or water bottle: ceramic casserole dish! It’s nice and big so I don’t have to worry about them running out during the day, sometimes they won;t drink much water all day and other times theyll drink a TON so I want to be sure they have enough. But the sides are low enough that they can drink easily.
What health problems have you dealt with: sore hocks in Leroy, and currently they’re on meds for some sort of upper respiratory infection in both Jeannie and Leroy
Are your bunnies low maintenance? Actually, yeah. I have to do a lot for them and I sure worry about them and their bills are expensive enough to remind me that they aren’t really “easy” pets. But neither bite or intentionally scratch me, I can do nails by myself, they don’t ruin the carpet or baseboards TOO often, and they haven’t made my hair turn grey yet … So yeah, they’re pretty low maintenance compared to other bunnies.
Enslaved by: Bun, Bee, Indy, Lion, Bagheera
Spayed/Neutered: Yes, minus Lion
Are you bunnies only caretaker: Me
If more than one, are they bonded: Indy and Bee, Lion and Bagheera, Bun is the lone ranger
Free roam or caged: Free roaming on Bee and Indy, xpens for the others
Does bunny go outside: No
Litter trained: 99.9% Bun gets all her pee in but not poo’s
What litter do you use: Yesterday’s News and Woodstove pellets
Do they get pellets: Oxbow T
How many meals a day: Three – veggies, and then pellets (morning and night pellets, veggies midday or night)
Hay- Feedstore
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: They love soft things to lay on and smoosh around.
Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: On a bonding session with Bee and Bun, Bun was bit badly and was taken to the vet to make sure it wouldn’t become infected. Bun also had fleas when I adopted her. I just combed them out tho and vacuumed well.
Are your bunnies low maintenance? I would say medium. Obviously not as much work as the dogs, but they do take a fair amount of work and dedication + time. They are worth it though.

Enslaved by: Eddie – mini lop Lollipop – mini rex
Spayed/Neutered: yep
Are you bunnies only caretaker: yep
If more than one, are they bonded: yep – 2 regular little snugglebugs lol
Free roam or caged: free roam when I’m home, in a pen while at work or they get in trouble
Does bunny go outside: no
Litter trained: kind of…..I think they do territorial pooping in certain places of the apartment but no peeing, just poop
What litter do you use: Yesterday’s News
Do they get pellets: yes
How many meals a day: they get unlimited pellets and hay and lettuce at night
Hay- store bought or farm: store
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: I just gave them an pillowcase. They won’t lay on it or anything but Lolli likes to move them around and will eventually pee on it. lol
Crock or water bottle: bottle
What health problems have you dealt with: Eddie gets gassy sometimes but nothing that has been major. Lolli’s been fine gut wise, but she’s needed sutures for sores from obsessive grooming. And when I first got them, I let Eddie too close while holding her and he bit her cheek which required stitches. And Lolli caught her toe on the carpet and broke it. I didn’t realize it till it was pretty much healed and there’s nothing the vet could’ve done anyways. so poor Lolli’s been thru some stuff but she’s trooper with diva-tude! lol
Are your bunnies low maintenance? Not really, even though I try to make them as low maintenance as possible. But they really aren’t. LOL i

What litter do you use: Equine Pine
Do they get pellets: Yes 1/2 cup Oxbow for each cage (Sandy’s bigger than them)

Free roam or caged: Both free run during the day in their bedroom during the night (Walter in a pen)

Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: GI Stasis, Heart Murmur, Slipped Disc, Torn Ear, I am sure there is something else
Are your bunnies low maintenance? Not even a little bit. I have a lot of pets and it is a toss up between the ferrets and rabbits on who is more high maintenance.
Enslaved by: Oreo (Mini Lop – although there’s not much “mini” about him!
), Fuzzy (Lionhead – proud & gorgeous!) and my bouncing boy Happy (very aptly named!)
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: Yes – although hubby and daughter help out when needed.
If more than one, are they bonded: No. Oreo wants to be everybunnies friend but Fuzzy and Happy say being single rules!
Free roam or caged: All 3 are free roam – they don’t even know what a cage is anymore.
Does bunny go outside: No. I want to get a covered pen tho so that they can enjoy outside safely.
Litter trained: Oreo 99.5% – very few stray poos. Fuzzy and Happy 99% – a few more stray poos.
All 3 are 100% with there potty so I feel very lucky for that!
What litter do you use: care fresh but I want to switch to the wood stove pellets as soon as I find some in stock somewhere!
Do they get pellets: Oreo about a 1/3 cup and Happy and Fuzzy get a little less than 1/4 cup each.
How many meals a day: They all get a big bunny salad in the morning made of romaine, red &/or green lettuce, some parsley, some cilantro, carrot peelings and whatever else fresh, crunchy and bunny friendly I can find at the farmers market . Oreo gets his pellets divided – 1 serving in the morning and 1 at night (because he gobbles them up like he’s starving). Happy gets his in the morning and nibbles on them all day – usually by bed time they are gone. Fuzzy was having a mushy poop butt problem so I started giving him his pellets around noon so he wouldn’t be eating them with his greens and it seems to have worked (we’ve been doing it this way for about 2 weeks and so far no mushy poop butt! Yay!). He usually has them done by evening. Then they all get a bed time snack – usually a handful of parsley or cillantro or a leaf of lettuce. Once or twice a week they get craisens or a papaya treat. Oh – and of course they have unlimited hay.
Hay- store bought or farm: Online store – Oxbow Timothy Hay
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: Blankets – they each have a blue blanket. Oreo eats and naps on his, Fuzzy poops and digs on his and Happy plays or sleeps on his!
Crock or water bottle: All 3 have a crock.
What health problems have you dealt with: Oreo and Happy none (knock on wood). Fuzzy has had a few health issues. When I had only had him for a few months he scratched his eye on what we assume was hay. We took him to the vet who prescribed some eye drops for him. Back then he would not let me pick him up no matter how hard I tried or how gentle I was (he would act terrified, would squeal and everything – it was horrible) and I had to put the drops in twice a day. After 2 days of this he stopped eating, I believe because he was so stressed out from us chasing him around trying to catch him and actually being caught. I bought a cage to keep him in and the poor baby had to stay in it for a week while we finished giving him the drops. I did this so we wouldn’t stress him out so much trying to catch him and he started eating again the next day. He also had a blockage that we had to treat him for about a year ago or so. That’s all tho, thank goodness!
Are your bunnies low maintenance? Not at all!
They are a lot of work but are worth every bit of it and then some!
Enslaved by: Mr. Bunny (unknown breed REW)

How many meals a day: 1/4 cup pellets for lunch, 1 3/4 cups salad for dinner, and various snacks of raisins and pellets during the day
Hay- store bought or farm: Store bought, although I’d like to switch to farm hay if I could find good orchard farm hay
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: Towels
Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: Severe gas, sore hocks, many months trying to figure out what a skin condition was (turned out to be a hormone/immune related problem)
Are your bunnies low maintenance? What do you consider low-maintennance?
Enslaved by: Monkey (netherland dwarf), Moose (dutch) and foster-bun Smudge (netherland dwarf)
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: No
If more than one, are they bonded: soon…
Free roam or caged: Pens for now, after bonded free range during day, pen at night.
Does bunny go outside: No

How many meals a day: 2. Veggies around 6pm, pellets before bed.

Are your bunnies low maintenance? LOL. Not with 2 diva nethies!!!
Enslaved by: Otto (holland lop), Hannah (mini lop)
Spayed/Neutered: yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: no, my husband and I split feeding, though I do all of the cleaning because of his hay allergies
If more than one, are they bonded: yes
Free roam or caged: caged while we’re at work and asleep, free roam the rest of the time
Does bunny go outside: Hannah will occasionally go out on the porch, Otto will not go outside
Litter trained: yes
What litter do you use: wood stove pellets
Do they get pellets: yes, a bit less than 1/4c each
How many meals a day: 2 – once before we leave for work and once as we’re going to bed
Hay- store bought or farm: store bought
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: neither – they prefer to sleep in a cardboard box, and Hannah was peeing on the blanket so I took it away. The main area of their cage is a large area rug, so you could say that they have wall-to-wall carpet ![]()
Crock or water bottle: crock
What health problems have you dealt with: nothing
Are your bunnies low maintenance? I think they are – I don’t have to walk them, they don’t care if I come home from work a few hours late (or even leave them alone overnight). Sometimes I wake up and find that Hannah has made a mess, which is a pain, but overall they’re less work than a dog. I’d put them at about medium level maintenance.
great idea!
Enslaved by: Michael Jackson aka MJ aka The King of Hop (Harlequin Lionhead Lop)
Spayed/Neutered: yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: yes, but my boyfriend will feed him if I’m at work
If more than one, are they bonded: only MJ right now. We’ll get him a friend eventually ![]()
Free roam or caged: free roaming but penned at night

Do they get pellets: yes, Oxbow Bunny T Basics 1/8 cup in morning and night
How many meals a day: 2, greens and pellets in morning and night
Hay- store bought or farm: store bought
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: yes, but he pushes them in a corner out of his way
Crock or water bottle: water bottle
What health problems have you dealt with: he had some gunky eye mucus when I first got him, but that was easily and quickly remedied by some eye drops. Other than that, he’s had one tummy ache in over a year. I’ve been very lucky!
Are your bunnies low maintenance? No way! He’s the most high maintenance animal I’ve ever had. Most of his high maintenance issues are due to his crazy lionhead fur and resistance to being groomed, and his gigantic litterbox. He’s not very destructive, though, and for that I am lucky.
Enslaved by: Lucy – the vet thinks new zealand and something else. I was told she’s a dwarf. She’s bigger than my full sized cat, dwarf? I think not!

Are you bunnies only caretaker: my husband helps, but I do a bit more and also have to tell him exactly what to do…oh and I take care of all the worrying too so he never has to do that. lol

Litter trained: yes, although Blu still likes marking a bit
What litter do you use: Carefresh

How many meals a day: 2, salad in the morning and evening…which they finish before even touching their pellets.
Hay- store bought or farm: Oxbow Timothy hay and Orchard Grass (bought online)
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: both, but Blu seems to like the wood floor, cage floor and grass mats more. Oreo doesn’t know what to do if we remove her blankets (i.e. when we’re cleaning out her area)
Crock or water bottle: crock because they both decided at one point to stop drinking from the water bottle…
What health problems have you dealt with: stasis with Oreo
Are your bunnies low maintenance? no, but I probably fuss over them too much. I’d say they’re pretty well behaved though.

Enslaved by: Blossom; my beautiful diva rhinelander/mix, and Charlie (or Harley??… my daughter and I can’t quite agree, lol) who is my 3 month old Harlequin Holland Lop
Spayed/Neutered: Blossom is spayed, Charlie/Harley will be neutered as soon as possible!!
Are you bunnies only caretaker: yes
If more than one, are they bonded: After my boy’s hormones simmer from his upcoming neutering we will be working on it. As for now, they are in the same room, but in seperate houses. They check each other out on a regular basis ![]()
Free roam or caged: Blossom is caged when I’m not home and when we all head to bed, but free roam when I’m home and awake… The baby gets monitored free roam as he is not fully litter box trained and ultra curious
Does bunny go outside: no
Litter trained: Blossom yes, although she leaves her “territorial” poops, and the baby is doing really well about learning… he is peeing in his litterbox, but I have to clean his poops out multiple times per day. That’s fine with me though… atleast he’s not urinating everywhere!!!
What litter do you use: wood stove pellets… or whatever those things are called. They are WONDERFUL if anyone is interested… seriously NO smell!!
Do they get pellets: Ms. B gets 1/4 cup per day (with a tsp of granola on top as her treat…. she looooooves her granola!) and baby boy gets unlimited amounts.
How many meals a day: B gets her greens and her pellets at night… I’m introducing the baby to them. He’s only had parsley yet, but he seems to enjoy it. He didn’t really know what I was giving him at first!! He had a very perplexed expression on his little chubby face, lol.
Hay- store bought or farm: I try to get our hay from the Missouri House Rabbit Society by the box full, but if I’m in a pinch I buy the Zupreem from the local El Mel
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: Blossom gets a dog bed (she’s a princess) but they baby has a nice rug as his floor that he lays on… He came from a wire floor
, so I think he’s a fan of his new surroundings.
Crock or water bottle: crock
What health problems have you dealt with: None yet… keeping my fingers crossed ![]()
Are your bunnies low maintenance? I’ve had many animals over the years, and I can definitely say that my bunny babies are more work “technically”, but I enjoy the work… I love being with them and caring for them, so it’s not something that I consider “maintenance”. They’re worth the effort!!
Enslaved by: Link (Flemmie) and Navi (lionhead). Stormy (dwarf) is on the bridge
Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: No, my fiance helps out too, and we kind of flip between being the primary caretaker – right now it’s me
If more than one, are they bonded: Yes.
Free roam or caged: Penned. Link is too big for a cage but Navi will chew walls.
Does bunny go outside: Only with close mommy supervision!
Litter trained: Yes, but Link has accidents because of medical issues.
What litter do you use: Mix of Carefresh Natural and hay
Do they get pellets: Yes, Link’s vet (large bun specialist) recommended unlimited pellets bc flemmies have an issue with being underweight.
How many meals a day: If they have no food, they get more (Link IS underweight and Navi is average)
Hay- store bought or farm: Farm. My parents have horses – it just makes more sense to get hay from them.
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: They just started getting them since Link started having issues.
Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: Overweight bun, underweight bun, kidney failure, urine scald, sore hocks, high fever (the last 4 have been in the last 2 weeks).
Are your bunnies low maintenance? For bunnies, they WERE – this changed with Link’s medical problems. Now I’m always taking care of him – for a while, I was even scheduling work around med times!

Spayed/Neutered: Yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: Yes

What litter do you use: Hardwood stove pellets

Hay- store bought or farm: Farm
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: I have offered them but they just pee on them.
Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: Well we (the vet and I) think Maddie has kidney problems and she is losing mobility in her back legs due to age. Maddie used to have poopy butt.
Are your bunnies low maintenance? No. Maddie pees and poos everywhere and Minnie digs in everything, destroys everything and likes to make messes.
Enslaved by: Leopold (Holland Lop) and Mr. Wooly (Jersey Wooly)

Does bunny go outside: No
Litter trained: For the most part, yes

Crock or water bottle: Water bottle
What health problems have you dealt with: Wooly has a third eyelid problem. We may have to do surgery some day, but it is doing pretty good at the moment.
Are your bunnies low maintenance? Yes and no. You have to do a lot of stuff for them, but you don’t have to walk them or bathe them (at least not normally) or let them outside all the time because they just want to go out to “sniff”.

Enslaved by: Kate and Spence
Spayed/Neutered: Yes and yes
Are you bunnies only caretaker: Sort of, my boyfriend helps out sometimes, but it’s mostly me. And in a week it will be only me.
If more than one, are they bonded: Yes, they are my little love bunnies
Free roam or caged: In the middle, they are locked up at night or when no one is home but running free the rest of the time
Does bunny go outside: No
Litter trained: For the most part, yes. Although somebunny enjoy pooping all over the pen. But the pee goes in the litter box and the poop doesn’t happen outside the pen (except for when they get the poop startled out of them
)
What litter do you use: I can’t remember the brand it’s a Yesterday’s News off brand
Do they get pellets: Yep, a quarter cup total (not each).
How many meals a day: Pellets in the morning, veggies at night, hay all day but hay replenishment happens right before bed.
Hay- store bought or farm: Store, here usually.
Does your bunny get blankets or towels to lay on: They have a fleece blanket covering the bottom of the pen.
Crock or water bottle: Crock
What health problems have you dealt with: Katie has a scratch on her third eyelid that might require surgery some day, but for now it just causes some eye boogers that Spence cleans for her. Spencer has a little ‘flipper toe’ probably a broken toe from a bonding fight that happened before I got them (also possibly the cause of Kate’s eye scratch) and it freaked me out but apparently it’s healed and ok, it was a bit sore for awhile though. It looks like he’s very subtly giving you the finger though! ![]()
Are your bunnies low maintenance? Yes and no, they require a lot, but they don’t have any health problems, they entertain each other pretty well, and they will do pretty much anything for a bit of dried papaya.
