I recently got a Holland Lop who stays in the house. At nighttime I sit her in the bed with me while I am on my phone, getting ready for bed, etc. Tonight she laid down against my leg for about 20 minutes. She was also breathing fast, but then again I’m not sure what is actually considered “fast” for a bunny. I’m wondering if her laying against me is a sign that she is getting more comfortable with me? (( I tried to attach a photo but it says my file type was not allowed))

Bunnies generally breathe faster than humans, so if you’re wondering is she’s feeling comfortable (or not), perhaps you can look out for other signs – e.g. are her eyes wide open or half closed, is her nose twitching fast, slow or not twitching (the last one means she’s asleep) etc.

Her laying against you is probably an indication that she’s comfortable with you But since you mentioned that you “sit her in the bed with you”, I assume this means that you carry her up to the bed? I don’t wanna jump the gun here, but do take note that bunnies don’t like to be picked up in general. It’s best to let them explore on their own and get comfortable at their own pace If you’re a new bunny owner, you could check out the BUNNY INFO section and have a read, it contains lots of wonderful information!
