Ok yall.  This is probably gonna be a weird question….  My “Cookie” is about 3mts.  I heard that bunnies shed their “baby” hair.  Is this true?  When will it happen?  Cause when I brush her, she has a lot of hair coming out….

Also would love to add that Cookie is doing great now with her litter box and enjoys her new freedom of running around the house!  She loves to chase the broom while I sweep.  Hmmmmm, If only I could figure out how to make her do it for me

I know lionheads do a mane shed when they start growing up… other than that, rabbits shed all the time and often have at least one big shed/molt per year.

lulla is molting at the moment. it is insane, i’m getting hairballs. last night i brushed her for 30 min and it looked like 3 other bunnies had came out. i bought the expensive “furminator” and it does wonders, but shes still molting and chunks still come out.

she’s about 8 months old, and this is obviously her first molt. im not sure what kinds of buns do what kinds of molting at what times, but lulla is a Californian and will be balding soon lol. nah, shes not looking balding at all lol!

some people on here told me it lasts about a month, so hopefully this will be over soon. so you’ll have a nice lovely molt to look forward to! And like digxmexnow said, they shed all the time, but you’ll def know when they are molting. TRUST ME! lol

i thought about selling her molting hair to a furrier so they could make a humane fur coat, theres enough to do it! =) lol jk!

she likely is having her first molt. bunnies go through 4 molts yearly alternating heavy and light shedding.
