I just got two baby male bunnies, age is about 8 weeks. I have a hay feeder and have moved it multiple times now due to the bunnies urinating and pooping in it, so now its on the outside of the cage, anyways since I have had the bunnies which has been a week now , I have been noticing that they have not eaten a lot of the hay for the past week that i have had them, throwing away a lot of it as each day goes by and giving them fresh hay. The hay I give them is a alfalfa/grass mix 50 lb compressed that i got at tractor supply, so i do not know what to do because I have so much so its not like I want to get a different kind at this time but I am worried if they do not start eating it, it might start affecting them. They do love their pellets that I have been feeding them, but knowing that they need hay as well. Just been concerning me a little because I know they need their hay. Please Help !!
p.s could it be the hay feeder and they dont know where its at ? I have the hay feeder probally about 5-6 inches high on the outside of the cage and the litter box is right below the hay feeder on the inside of the cage or should I just try and not feed them pellets for a day and see if they go for the hay ?
