Bunnies have souls/spirits?

Ditchy died last feb 26 this year, as much as I wanted to narrate the whole story but it is still so painful. So here it goes… Today around 4am, while my mom is preparing (her daily routine though) because I’m on a day shift work, she literally stopped what she was doing because she smelled our fur baby. She immediately calls her like the way we used when she was alive (huhu in teary eyes now), “You wanna play with mommy”? “Your boss is still asleep” (which is me), my mom said. Around 6:30AM today, my mom told me what happened, I don’t know but I was really happy, though science would never agree us on this but the hell I care, my princess will never be forgotten, I buried her on my own at the back of our house. My mom always clean our house like everyday, and we stopped smelling our princess when she died exactly a week ago. I really wish Ditchy will also do that to me, I wanna smell her baddest scent and even wanted to check her body from time to time, I MISS HER SO BAD!!!

P.S. I am really new to BB. I enjoyed reading everyone’s experiences and advices here. I still don’t know the whole website but BB is making me happy everyday. Helping me to look on a brighter side and getting more buns in the future. THANK YOU!!!

Absolutely I think all animals have souls

It can be very hard to have lost a rabbit, when I lost Bandit last year, for the longest time I used to hear hay chewing, see him out of the corner of my eye, and hear him jumping up and down the levels in his cage. It’s nice to have that, but it was also very difficult to have that, thinking he was still there only to realise he wasn’t a few seconds later.

I’m very sorry that you lost your bun. I can’t say if it means he’s near you. He is of course close to your heart, but we cant know if rabbits have souls and if they come and visit us from beyond this world.

It’s a lovely idea though. ❤

I’m a strong believer in that animals have souls/spirits whatever you want to call them. I also believe that they, along with people who have passed on, can visit us in our dreams. That’s when we are most perceptive to receive them. My Bridge babies visit me once in a while and I always wake up feeling a sense of peace.

I’m an atheist, so the whole metaphysical soul thing is kind of a meh to me.  That said, as wonderful and sweet as bunnies are, how could they not have a “soul”.

I mean I just lost my son stomper about 3 days ago, I buried him and everything already, he had a cancerous growth in his belly area and I just curiously went over by his cage and heard his water bottle rattle how he usually is used to grab and pull like no other, anyways I curiously opened his cage and immediately a cold gust of air came out rushing towards my feet and lower leg, when I tell you I can’t stop thinking about how he maybe is still roaming around my apartment and I just left his poor soul locked in a cage because I didn’t know he would still be here 🙁 idk what to think I feel like I’m over reacting but I’m also not the type to feel stuff like this, it’s just caught me off guard. So in short yes they better have souls otherwise I’d give stomper mine honestly that was my son I found him on the street as a baby and I took him in because I wanted to give him a better life someone abandoned him with a bad eye and everything I had to take care of him what type of person would I be I thought about just fostering him but I couldn’t resist they really grow on you. 🙁

Coming home one day I heard my first Pug, Ali, barking along with the other dogs as we approached the door.  She had been gone about a week.

I also felt my Kira press her back up against mine as I lay on my side in bed.  That was her place to sleep, us back to back.  She had also been gone about a week.

My Rain passed a year ago, and one day I went out to the yard next to her grave/memorial area. There’s a little table we keep near it that’s covered in dust because nothings touched it in so long. That day I looked over and noticed rabbit pawprints in the dust, I knew they were a rabbit’s because of two small front ones and big long back ones, and from googling them. There used to be wild cottontails in the area but they all moved out due to construction, so none of them have been around for years. Even if a wild one was still around, I highly doubt it would venture so close to the house and jump onto the table when there was no incentive of food or safety. As much of a devout skeptic and atheist I am, that made me wonder if it was Rain’s spiritual form visiting us.
