My bunnie is 8mo old, and within the last day or two she has developed a lump in part of her ear. She is playing, eating/ drinking, and letting me snuggle her like she always does. Her head is not tilting, but her ear just is a little floppies than the other. She is ok with me patting over her head, but gets really kissed when I try to touch/ look at the ear. There is no crust or pus anywhere in the ear. She doesn’t seem to be scratching it and it isn’t affecting her disposition and normal bunny routine. Should I wait a few days and monitor it? Or does this warrant an immediate vet trip? Thanks a bunch !

It looks like it could be blood-ear, a condition that’s pretty common in dogs. It means blood has leaked out from small vessels in the ear and accumulated under the skin. It can be caused by shaking the head vigourously or scratching the ear. Have you seen her shake her head a lot/scratch her ear before this puffiness appeared? Sometimes an infection inside the ear, behind the ear drum, can make a bun shake its head and scratch the ear.

I think you should call your rabbit vet and book her in so they can empty out the pooled blood and address the underlying cause.

I agree with Bam. I would go to the vet.

I agree with Bam, it looks like a blood-filled pocket. Definitely have a vet take a look, they can drain it.
