So my mini Rex is shedding like crazy right now. Figure it’s the change in seasons. He’s about 8.5 months, and this is the first time he has really shed like this. I had a Netherland dwarf when I was a kid and don’t remember her shedding this much, and cat brushes were fine with her. But for my Rex, the combs and brushes I have just slide right through that velvety fur and don’t really help to pull out any lose hairs. At least he likes being brushed and combed, but I honestly get more for out by picking at the bits of hairs I see sticking out (which tickles him, so he does NOT like that). Any Rex owners know of any good brushes or combs that will help? Going crazy with all the fur lining his pen!

I’ve read that pumice grooming stones are good for rex fur. Like what is used for horses.

Try using damp hands or a rough damp cloth. Those work a lot better than brushes for my rex. They also sell rubber grooming gloves that I keep thinking might work.

When I had a Mini Rex the only thing I found worked on him was a Small Animal Furminator. And wet hands.
