Tuka is my little baby boy. So today I got him out to bond a bit. He’s very timid, though he just got beat up… Either way, he just sat there chilling. Much different than all 3 of the does. Hopefully he’ll have a buddy soon – were looking at another buck who might be a good buddy.

He was super gentle and sweet. Shhh, I think he’s my favorite,

also, excuse his appearance. I dropped him and he ran into Cali’s cage and than Cali attacked him. But he’s working on grooming himself!

I’m a bit confused in previous posts you have said you have 3 females and one male, is this a new rabbit? Or is this your existing male rabbit?

Is he neutered? You will need to have him and any other rabbit you intend to bond him with neutered for at least 4-6 weeks before you bond them. My advice would be to work on getting some of your rabbits spayed/neutered before adding any more.

We got him neutered. Still 3 girls & a boy, but the boy no longer has his boy parts

Yep yep, I know. Thanks. We have 1 of the girls going into spay soon. It won’t be long, trust me, before everyone is fixed. But we still are looking into getting another boy, since Tuka is lonely for the moment and we have the space ^^ if anything, then it’ll become a better male/female ratio, & from what I’ve heard males/females bond better with each other.

You had him neutered in the last 5 days? How is he doing?

Yeah we were heading to the vet for our parrot, and snatched Tuka. Its not a very busy vet, and they got him in that Day, though we had to leave him there. In the morning he was doing fine. The vet staff loved him. That was 3 days ago. I’m glad he isn’t picking at the area, that was my biggest worry since our dog did that when she was spayed. Lets hope the other buns don’t do that, too ^^

obviously when/if we get another buck we’ll let Tuka heal. To be a bit honest, he’s my excuse to let my mom get this ADORABLE blue otter Rex. XD its an addiction.

It’s important you don’t allow tuka in with the females until 4 weeks post op. He can still impregnate them shortly after surgery.

I know, I know. They’re next to each other (why is how he was dropped and attacked by Cali, I have to walk through their pen to get to Tuka’s) but they can’t get through the barriers. I’ve checked many, many times. XD

Okay I think the confusion here is that when you said “I took him out to bond a bit” you meant YOU wanted to bond with him, not that you were bonding your bunnies together. And as you were picking him up, you dropped him in the another bunny’s cage. Is that right?

I think the wording just got people mixed up.

Yes, I meant I was cuddling with him since he’s always been wild.
Right now an x pen is divided so to get to his side I have to cross the does side. We’ll looking into another one though as 5 rabbits I don’t know would fit happily. But they’re doing fine now
