I want to get my bun to be more bonded with ME. How could I do that?

First thing is not to want the bonding. I know that sounds wierd but rabbits pick up on your need to be near them and if they feel that, they’ll interpret it as you wanting to eat them. There are two things in the world to rabbits – other rabbits and things that eat rabbits. With your forward facing eyes, you’re currently the latter.

To become the former, you need to let them bond with you on their terms and their time. The easiest way to get a rabbit to approach you is with treats, but that often results in them just snagging the treat and then running away. The second best thing is to to being doing something and not include your rabbit.

I have found that doing such things as reading a book or newspaper while on the floor will have the rabbit crawling on you in under 3 minutes. They want to find out what it is that is taking up all of your attention and not paying any towards them. The hard part is not to pet them at this stage. Wait for the nose bump or them putting their head under your hand/arm and lifting it with their nose. Then, you can pet them.

Other than that, just spending a lot of time on the floor with them is the best thing possible.
