Just a question regarding bonded rabbits. I have two that I considered ‘bonded’ but after reading much online and in forums…It seems there is alot to bonding…

How do I know that they are officially "bonded"? Are there tell tale signs that they have finished ‘bonding’ or are in the process of ‘bonding’?

They’ve lived tother since I brough kahlua home (about three weeks ago)…They just did so well on initial introduction (they were grooming each other in seconds) and didn’t fight at all that we let them sleep in the same area the very first night and since then they have been together. They’ve never fought and Kahlua follows Kokanee around and does everything she does (we call her Kokanee’s sidekick). They eat and drink at the same time from the same bowls. Are they officially bonded?

It does sound to me like they are bonded. Sometimes bonding can happen very quickly. If they are co-existing together, sharing sleeping space, food, litterboxes and not fighting, I consider them bonded. You also mention grooming and that’s a sign of affection.

Sarita’s right. If you’re not seeing ANY aggression at all, they’re all snuggly and happily co-habitating – they’re bonded.
It’s rare, but there is such a thing as bunny love at first sight.
You won the bonding lottery! 🙂

Awe, like two peas in a pod. I second that gravehearted, what is in the bowl?

Leo & Jessica bonded over a weekend together.  Now they’re super happy buns.  They share their food bowl, groom each other, and sleep together in their bunny bed.  Its super cute and makes me super happy!  Jess is fixed and Leo isn’t neutered, so occasionally he still tries to hump her.  He mostly just humps her head, so I’ll let you decide what his preferences are.

Sorry Haven’t been on in a few days…

The stuff in the bowl is chopped carrots, apple and brussel sprouts. The stuff in the cage is actually just linoleum…We went to "open-concept’ and dropped the cage thing all together. They live in my super-huge storage closet and I made a door for it with cubes (sort of a cage material) so that they have more room!

Here’s a better picture of them, my bf just took yesterday… (They are in their ""digging box" which is a laundry basket with shredded newspaper and hay)

They are so cute – the digging box is a great idea too. I bet they are going to love all their new space too.

They totally look like they’re living large!  I think the fluffy/puffy one looks like a fluffy/puffy bird in the digging box.  I guess b/c he’s dark and fluffy and his nose is kinda beige.  I keep thinking it looks like a beak.  That’s totally awesome that bonding went to well!
