Hi, I just got a 6 month old male who is not neutered yet ( I am working on it) and a 3 year old doe who is spayed. How is this going to affect bonding? Right now they are in separate pens next to each other and are sniffing each other out. Starlight (3year old doe) seems unbothered so far which is good because I thought she’d be hostile towards a new bunny.  Sandy (6month old buck)  doesn’t seem to hate her either but I haven’t let them run around outside of the pen together yet. Any information or experiences similar to mine would be appreciated. Thank you.

Don’t let them interact at all until after he is neutered and his hormones have had a chance to settle for a few weeks. It’s fine for them to live side by side for now though, just make sure they can’t “get at” each other. You would be surprised how high buns can actually jump when they are trying to get to another rabbit!

It’s great they don’t seem to hate each other. 🙂 Once he is neutered and healed you can start doing side swaps for a couple weeks, and then you can start doing “dates” in a neutral territory. This should be a place that neither rabbit has ever been (bathrooms are popular for dating). If you let them run around together in the area where they normally play, they will very likely fight.
