Blood in urine/ On gentials

Hi

 

My poor bunny Asbel was ill last week with diarrhea/ GI, I am waiting back on some tests for coccidia, His poops have returned to normal and he is eating on his own

 Yesterday after moving house i noticed some blood in his urine, I have read before it can just be pigment? Hes 9 weeks and currently eating only hay and science supreme junior nuggets with no veg/fruit till hes older

 He has peed several times since and is the same colour. While i was worming him after i believe he just peed, i thought i would check his gentials and noticed they had a little bit of blood/pee around them

 Im booking him in the vets first thing tomorrow, i did call my vet today and she told me to monitor him because he seems his happy playful self coming up to the bars for loves when i go past and constantly wants to be petted, hes a friendly little guy  

 

Now i just feel sick with worry, Will i have to prepare a urine sample and how much does something like this cost to examine? ( In £s. Ive literally just moved so everything is on a budget but my bunnies come first)

I just want him to be ok.

 

If anyone can help me that would be great, Its been a really bad 2 weeks

*****By the way , The vet told me to monitor him as I really couldnt make it to the vets today and she explained that pee can vary in colours

Im sorry you’ve been struggling!

Is it like spots of red or is it a consistent colour?
Often when people think there’s blood in bunny’s urine it turns out to not be blood at all. Urine comes in a wide range of colours so if it’s just red-ish urine there’s nothing to worry about.

At least you have the peace of mind of seeing the vet tomorrow!
Not sure about samples, take some pictures to show him/her.

Bunny urine comes in a rainbow of colours, like you mentioned.
Does the red urine dry red or brown? If it dries red then it’s probably not blood. Also, like Tessie mentioned, it’s less likely to be blood if the urine is a consistent colour all the way through.

Thanks for your messages, He’s currently on soft wood shavings and it does look brown when it dries but red at first. It is one consistent color rather than spots. Its just been one long week, ive never had a bunny with GI before and i really dont want anything else to be wrong with him after that

I will take him for peace of mind but i feel comforted knowing chances are its nothing.

Thank you for your help, Both of you , My husband kept saying after looking on the internet and this forum its probably normal but I think sometimes you need to hear it from someone else
