Hello, I have a female rabbit, about 6 1/2 years old. Yesterday morning when I woke up I noticed fresh drops of blood on the floor of my room, in her playpen, which I use as her cage. I checked all over her body and could not figure out where the blood had come from. After calling the vet, I was advised to put some paper towels down to see if she keeps bleeding / to try and locate the source. I noticed on one paper towel she sat on some poop got stuck to it, and some diluted pink blood was around that poop.
My rabbit has some issues cleaning herself, she is a little overweight (but has lost a lot in the past year), which causes poop to get stuck to her fur and stuck to my floor. I noticed the blood was in the spots where she normally sits/lies down. She is acting normally, drinking, eating, and pooping/peeing. Her pee looks normal (I have brown litter, so it is hard to tell the color). I haven’t taken her to the vet. I haven’t seen any blood since yesterday.
Should I take her as a precaution? I don’t have a ton of money to drop at the vet
Does anyone have any ideas regarding this situation?
