        My bun was spayed yesterday and she hadn’t peed until this morning. There was a little bit of dark red stuff in the urine while the urine is light yellow in color. And this afternoon she peed again and there were some dark red stuff in the light yellow urine as well!! I wiped off the urine with some napkins and noticed that the dark red stuff is a little thick and sticky than the urine. Is it normal? Or I worried too much? It is not bright red so I am afraid if it is caused by internal bleeding. Please help T______T

          No, its not normal. You need to alert your vet and get her seen. {{{Vibes}}} for you bunny. I hope her healing has no more complications.

            i called the vet and asked them about the blood in urine. the reception told me not to worry unless she continue to pee blood in urine. last night she peed again and there was a hint of redness in the urine, and this morning her urine is completely light yellow. i will take close attention to her pee to see if something is going wrong with her T________T

              If you’re seeing clots then that is a huge red flag. Is she spayed?

                 I would not be happy with that response from the receptionist. Did they speak to vet for you?

                @LBJ, this occurred post spay.

                  Sorry, was on my phone earlier. I didn’t see the “spayed yesterday” part. Hmm, I’ve never heard of this before. Perhaps some blood got in there at the time of the spay or something didn’t get tied off good at the end where the uterus, etc. was removed. Since the reproductive tract and urinary tract both “empty” into the same opening, that would make sense. The urine might just be washing the blood clots out of there when she pees.

                      i suppose this is the cause. the next day after seeing blood clot in her urine, her urine is back to normal~ she’s eating good but still not drink much, pooing well and pee 3 times a time.

                        It could have just been because of the procedure. But I would definitely talk to the vet if you see them again. At this point, any initial clotting should be gone since everything should be healing. So more blood clots this far out would suggest there is something to worry about.
