Best place to keep bunny post spay

Charlie and George have both been taken to the vets for their neutering today. As George is being spayed, I’m somewhat more worried about her risk of infection and hurting herself than I am for Charlie.

I’ve been swapping them between cage and pen each day, but I’m concerned that swapping while recovering could cause undue stress (I haven’t seen any signs of stress from either, except that both prefer the pen).

The cage is only 57x95cm, but it’s easier to sterlise. I normally leave the floor uncovered (plastic) and let the rabbit in this cage out more often. I expect after a spay George won’t want to move much, but if she did want to come out she’d have to jump over a lip.

Then pen by contrast is 96cmx96cm, it has most of the toys in (though I could take these out) but owing to the rug (which I’m certain has been peed on) and the gaps between the tiles couldn’t possibly be fully sterilised. The exit is ground level.

I’m not sure whether George should stay in the more sterile cage which is harder to get out of and bigger in case she wants to stay in there. Or whether it really wouldn’t matter and it would be better for Charlie is more likely to be energetic to have it.

After how many days should I resume swapping? I want them both to feel comfortable in the pen (they do) and judging my the time my wife thought it was George’s turn to come out and Charlie snuck passed George’s head to lay with her in the pen (I pulled him out lest they attempt to breed) they don’t mind sharing it so I don’t want one to become possessive over it. Obviously, their health supersedes the ease of pen sharing.

Can you put them in the pen but put a divider in it.
I’d put towels down over something waterproof then you can wash them easily when they get soiled?
It’s essential to not let them have anything to jump over for a while in case the stitching is out under too much pressure

If you divide it its the same amount of room as the cage. Id continue cage swapping but use a ramp to let them in or out the cage.
It will be helpful to both to have a change of scenery I would imagine
