Hi everyone! I was wondering what kind of carriers you guys would recommend I.e fabric, clamshell, crate, etc. I’m hearing different pros and cons about all of them. I was also confused on how big the carrier needs to be. My baby is a seven month old New Zealand and weighs about 7 pounds. Thank you!

Definitely skip the fabric carrier, buns can easily chew their way out on a short car ride. I prefer a hard sided carrier with both a front door, and a top opening door. Bunnies can really hunker down in the corners of a carrier if they want to, so having the option to access them from the top, and from the front is really helpful. It’s good for the carrier to be big enough for them to lay down in and turn around in, but you don’t want it to be too big that they can be thrown around in it a lot if you have to make sudden turns with the car. But of course allow room to grow if needed. I hope that helps

Thank you! I will definitely consider a hard sided carrier. I had never considered the chewing through part. Mars isn’t a chewer at all but tends to do it if he feels enclosed in any way. We actually had to free roam him because he couldn’t be enclosed anywhere, lol!
