Hi so many of you know that now ginger is a single bun after we lost toffee when they were being neutered. Since coming home gingers behaviour has changed quite a bit. The first two days he seemed fairly the same as he has been always other than the obvious looking slightly lost without toffee and looking everywhere for him. However since then he has turned very grumpy and doesn’t like to be around people. He gets frustrated when anything is in his way and won’t let any of us near him really. Sometimes he’ll have the odd stroke but other than that he prefers to be away from ya. I’m just wondering if any of you can help me begin to understand why this is happening? Is it behavior due to him being neutered or is it the fact that he is lonely because he no longer has his companion that he has had by his side since we bought them together? Any advice would be a huge help Thankyou

I am so sorry Ginger is showing these changes.

As far as the reason we would honestly be speculating. It could very well be the neuter because they can go through a roller coaster of hormones that can make them moody. He could also still be dealing with the loss of his friend. It could be a combination of both. Either way I would just give him time. Of course I would keep on eye on his incisions and his eating and pooping.

I’m not sure what their set up was like but considering they should have been separated for a while now I think he’ll recover from his loss pretty quickly. He can very well be confused on the changes but since they weren’t bonded I wouldn’t be too concerned.
