I know typically you don’t need to give them a bath but one of mine isn’t doing to well and seems to be wetting himself (even though he’s cage free) he’s getting a little smelly and gross on the underside. I was thinking of giving him a bath.

Any tips, water temp, type of soap (like dawn or w/e), best way to dry him, etc.

p.s. I’m already working with the vet to try to get him healthy again.

Here is a link that tells about giving a butt bath to a bunny, both a wet and dry method. I think it’s good to have a plastic dish pan on the floor, since rabbits feel safer on the floor. Fill it with an inch or two of warm water. I use a little piece of a natural soap, such as Kirk’s Castille in the water. It’s good if you have a helper – one person to hold the rabbit in the water and the second person to splash the water onto the dirty area. Be sure to dry your bunny well. Has the vet checked for a urinary tract infection?

Thanks, I’ve spent a month and over 2k on him to try to get this handled. It looks like its Kidney Failure, I’m hoping he makes it through as some the numbers improved a little but I’m not certain. Until then I’ll just keep making sure he’s as comfortable as I can make him.
